Don't know too too much about mod005 but it's a good kit too
They both pretty similar from what I know
I'd say m1w just because I have the m1 and I wasn't disappointed at all
But mod005 isn't bad option either
alr
ig ill go with the mod005
since i quite like the compact 65% layout
How the stab
from online video of the full keyboard
Sound decent
Could use some mod
overlubestab
The stabs that came with mine were pretty good
@round anchor i ordered jwick nylon and ws heavy tactile with the monsgeek m1w kit
heard that the jwick nylon is pretty good unlubed
O lmk how it feels
Inb4 he cancel order tmr

gotta wait for like a week
Both
But I like pcb foam more because it can help remove that kinda hollow sound in some boards
I like pcb foam more
I should do paint tape mod on the gmk68
Gmk68
67
Fuck
Also
How do u check
If a pe foam is static or non static
I want to remove all the high pitch note
i already did that
3 actually
@round anchor man sheβs gorgeous
switches: JWK nylon black v2, Gateron Milky Yellow on F row, KTT Darling on arrow keys
All lubed with Krytox 205g0 and 105g0 on the springs
what keyboard
monsgeek m1w
its good?
yea
It would be interesting
There are a few ways
If it's not every switch
Try twisting the spring alittle
Sometimes that can help fix it
Putting foam under the pcb can help too
You can also wait for it to go away after it gets broken in alittle
And if you don't already have a deskmat, that helps too.
alr
Oh
There's a channel thread for keyboard discussion

Ok, anyone know how to design a custom keycaps?
U can do it with nail polish
Paint over plain white kc
For artisan
Prob use arcylic bs
Wait
Custom design like that
Printed image on keycaps or something
idk how to do it tho
Do you know any website that provide that commission?
I only know some service in vietnam through fb
how do you people have money for custom keyboards I decided to make a suisei keyboard and the keycaps alone already makes me want to kms

Saving up
Its my 2nd custom project now
kms
the first one i spent almost $75
Im still looking for Mashiro keycaps
Or any keycaps that has similar color with Mashiro theme
you prob gotta commission one if you really want one
and you know how commissions are
πΈ
Im willing to spend $100+ tho
gmk67!!!!!!!
color options?
Build a real custom one
Get a barebone diy kit

order from china is cheaper
if order from thai more expensive
check in shopee
its the one im using rn and its very solid for its price
order from china is cheaper
i wish my country doesn't have stupid tax system
china momento
Yeah, gmk board is good one
oh yea gmk67 blue could work
What keycaps?
make sure to look at reviews on yt first
pbt
another guy i talked to gave me bakeneko65 but like bro $150...
they stupid
gmk67 is probably one of the most beginner friendly board
without having to spend a crazy amount of money
lol
ye
budget for rich
Should i do mill max mod to my new keyboard? Its a non-hotswapable keyboard
i dont want to soldering and desoldering each time i need to change a switch
GMK barebone?
all gmk67 tho
theres also ΰΈΰΉΰΈ²ΰΈ§ΰΉΰΈΰΈ₯ logo in that keycap set
lol wtf
its not ΰΈΰΉΰΈ²ΰΈ§ΰΉΰΈΰΈ₯ but it looked very similar
lol
but yea they chose evrything themselves
i just help them build it
teaching them on how to lube etc.ΰΉΰΉ
buy clones

you dont have to buy anime keycaps
buy color themed ones
iidk
id rather have a soldered kne than a milmaxx one
ngl
Im having ptsd with soldering stuff
My pcb mouse half dead lol
Half of the pcb dead and cant be used again

Its pretty priced mouse tho

Man
I love this keyboard
Its really cool
But i need to mod the stabs
my bag is too small to bring my keyboard with me
and i dont want to buy a case just for the keyboard
so i just leave it at my dorm
What the hell???
That like
Flagship keycap
πππππ
Damn Novelty stuff hit diff
What ur budget
wrong reply
Can you give like a estimate budget u willing to spend
Honest gmk67 blue
Gonna be like the most budget
Also u might want to consider sound profile
U can get a gmk67 for around 32 35 us dollar
Just maybe replace the pcb foam
I dont really like
good?
Yeah that
but you have to get different plates for different layouts tho
idk
But the pcb look rly bad
still better than rk's

Tru tru
Honestly i think you should get the Womier S-K71 then slap on the keycap
this keyboard stock is amazing
The keyboard is 90$
get 10% off on this board with the code "mango" https://en.xvxchannel.com/products/womier-s-k71?sca_ref=3945301.cSa5fLKSnw
If u want to pop more just add like 5 layer of tape
The foam om this is good enough with no pinging
The gasket performance actual exist
woey
actually that blue is nice
but does it have a darker blue
i dont want it to blend with the keys
NAURR
honestly
I actually dont like darker blue on a alu case
Ruin the shin of alu
So prob plastic
darker blue?
I think like
akko mod 007 iirc
Isnt this black
only the deep navy with that price
that is pretty dark lol
you said navy
Too dark

Just say no

He want novelty keycap
Would alr cost more than the keyboard+switches
ππππ
Inb4 he found out artisan keycap

Imagine keycap = ur phone
"Mom i can explain"
Oh boy
U r lucky
2023 literally a bunch of budget
Option
In like 2019
Literally

It sound more hollow than my wallet
Something crystal
literally

no life savings woooo
You know what funny
We spending a lot to make our keyboard sound noce
Then we wear headset
Literally block all sound

And play in the dark so cant even see the keyboard 80% of the time
A

403?
because damn theyre heavy
Look like g102
says someone who used g502 with all the weights in the past
nigga it was like 135g
White mouse

Design Concept Stellar was inspired by comets and shooting stars. Both shades of the color blue and pastel yellow were depicted by the light that they beautifully shined in our night sky. Stellar is a set for stargazers, people who love the night sky, or even those who just happen to really like blue.
go read im lazy
mald
speak of the devil

let him cook
U have decided on the mod?
U prob only need to tape mod iy
It
Or if u feeling extra fancy lube the switch
The thing stock is hella fine
tempest mod, holee mod, foam/silicone, force break
Bro rec force break on every metal keyboard
The stab on that thing is amazing
Holee mod a waste of tine
Tempest mod the only thing i agree with u
It ok
U just need to do like 2 thibg
Go google tape mod
And do it
Ignore r1s1ng
He a nerd

@wet sage
U only need to do this
Nothint else
I recommend u use 3m masking tape

this is prob the only kb ill do for a while tbh
this hobby expensive
Nobody keyboard nerd: spend 700$ on a keyboard to make it sound and look better
Proceed to game in dark room with headset
π₯π₯π₯π₯

Not every got 4hr
In this video I look at the Womier S-K71 budget mechanical keyboard

Follow this guide from the 8 min mark
He had 300+ keyboard
He know what his stuff

wew
yk considering the color scheme i shouldve bought the other variation of the switches instead
but oh well

NAH
Is it safe to get a tape mod?
My friend told me its safe but not that safe
i just don't want to break my $80 keyboard lol
its fine
if the place youre in doesnt have high humidity

you dont want your pcb to corrode do you
Honestly
I never seen anyone complain about tape mod breaking their board
I do
Few
They complaining about broken pcb, shorts and etc
yea because of moisture
I did a tape mod before
Yeah it sounds really good
But im worried for now
Because this is my new keyboard
Its pretty expensive for me
Which masking tape should i get?
@merry widget get anything that doesnt conduct electricity
3m masking tape
Or painter tape should be fine
Also
U should choose on with normal to weak adhesive
Dont get strong adhesive when u removing the tape mod it could ruin the pcb
I rec 3-4 depending the thickness of the tape
Shessssh look clean
Why tf it remind me of mint chocolate

Also those novelty look hella nice
I love that enter with that esc key
π
Damn
scam
Sound test when

i dont even have a proper mic so like
how
i use earphones
getting used to it alr
zamn
i really wanted to improve my typing speed more
my peak is 174wpm if i remembered correctly
imagine get 200wpm π±
wpuldbe krazy
k60 pro tkl rgb opx
slider 205g0
spring gpl105
stab 205g0
tape holee mod
3 layer tape on pcb
Sound nice
I think the keycap holding the sound back tho
Maybe something thα»cer
it does sound nice
I agree with graydust it would sound more full with thicker keycaps
still a good build
π
I hope nothings gonna happen with my keyboard by doing this
Before
After
Goofy spacebar
I'll fix it later
This keyboard came without any hotswapable feature
how the fuck is that 80$
Its 2
I did 5 layer on mine π
@round anchor @shrewd cypress this is a gaming keyboard with an omnipoint switch
using any heavier keycap will cuck my rhythm gaming experience

The reason why I modded this keyboard is to minimize rattling sound and noises, not for a good sound xd
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PzDwgEuAi8Q corsair had this issue for a long time, and original sounds pretty ass
Typing on the Corsair K70 Pro RGB with Optical - Mechanical switces
(k60 layout is basically k70 with the upper multi-media keys)
Oh i got it
God damn
It did kinda crazy job
Compare to the video
akko is scamming when it comes to pre builts lol
not always
most of the time
Does it needs to take of the stab?
Or just put the mod?
Since this keyboard wasn't hotswapable
...
Dang
I need the tools

You cant fix stabilizers unless its hot-swappable
The only choice is to desolder but its tedious asf and you need to spend $
Iβd rather recommend to get a new keyboard instead if you dont want a rattling spacebar
@merry widget
lets go

you mean
soldered
it is very much still a thing
especially on high end boards
it provides a much higher stability for the switches at the cost of convenience
I have a plan on getting mill max for this keyboard so it will become hotswapable
But, it cost almost the same price as getting a brand new keyboard
Also there's a new keyboard from Ajazz
Ajazz AK820? It has knob for pretty cheap price
The same layout with gmk67
Also gasket mounted
the gmk67 is pretty good tho
No?
i mean i really cannot differentiate between gasket mount and the kthet type of mount
Honestly it doesn't matter for me
I just really want a nice keyboard with rattleless stabilizer

gasket doesnt always mean excellent
π₯π₯π₯
True
What is blud doing π
i can sell you the whole thing
i have 60 with me

oh wow ion evem realize dis channel exist
105?
Ye
Where 105
What switch u planning to lube
The akko switches?
WHICH ONE
2nd gen pink switches
From Akko
Its from the keyboard
The stock one
It's good enough for me
I just need to do lube to make it better
Alr sure
I just really have a problem with these stabs
most of them are rattling like hell

Even my cheap keyboard has better stock stabilizer
Desolder
Bandaid mod
Plumber mod
Yea
Im planning to do that
But some permatex in the wire
Do i need to cut the feet?
Balanced the wire
Depend on ur stab
Not that need to be cut
Hmmm
Ok
seems like there is enough taping and stuffing alrdy
use a pinset or something thin and sharp, pull four thingys then it will come out
extremely time consuming though (I tried it myself and bought a switch opener right after)
you sure you have the tools / person to desolder
preferrably yes, I also cut the feet
yeah
but the foam kekw
use a nail clipper, it works for the tiny part
cant cut it to make it thin enough
I would advice him cutting off feet after trying not cutting
Same here
I did that before
I made 1 to 2
And for the switch opener
Yeah i know how to do that
Thats why i said im using my nails to open it
1 to 4 was too ridiculous with my nailclipper lmfao
ah I see
but it legit kinda sounds more disgusting
still good though because there is less hollow space
is it?
if it sounds thicker and heavier
it means it worked alrdy
no way its going to sound weird
Need to cut the foam a bit
Or
Do you want something that sounds creamy?
oh lol
yeah
not really
yeah seems good
if the foam is the issue just remove it, no other choice tbh
I did not put foams inside my kb because of that
only taped 3 layers
also taping does not necessarily make the kb 'creamier'
its mostly switch dependent
Taping the pcb only makes it more "thocky"
yes
im gonna open it and cut the foam a bit
if you really want creamy sound
Do lubes and get other switches
cus its putting pressure to the panel lmao

that what i wanted anyway lmao
its not like the one yall used for modding lmao
i just use thick foam and cut it to make it thinner
i suck

excuse shid quality
the way im typing is weird asf LMAO
Nerd
205g0 for the housing and stems
105g0 for the springs
or you can just use 205g0 on the spring's ends
also a brush (duh)
also how bad/good are factory lubed switches?
depends
ogeh
I don't think that this is meaningful
105 is not that expensive
Bruh I only found this piece of shit now
You can use that as foam dampener for your case

I need to give 1 more layer tape to my pcb after this
And put more foam inside
Well that was dumb
thats normal
either because the switches are ass or the switch puller is ass
it doesn't affect the typing experience
π
Switch puller?
if you have a cheap ass keyboard, no
πππ
i lost the "feet"
π
ππππ
my stabs have ticking but i dont really care that much
Decided to open it again and add thin foam

Oh godd
?
π
that stab πππ
Shussh
i fucked my stabs i aint gonna do it for now
and ion wanna open it again
its near death now cus the connector is fucked up

just
put some lube in a syringe
and add lube to the stab
