#Remove or replace the "ding" sound when you make/get a headshot

I suppose someone else has already suggested or mentioned this, but it's one of the things I can't stand about this game. It might be useful for knowing if you killed someone, but couldn't you at least make it sound like the actual sound of a bullet going through a helmet instead of sounding like hitting a pot with a spoon? Even CS or COD don't have something this silly. You can shoot someone from 200 meters away and you'll still hear that sound. It really doesn't make sense and ruin the realism

It's not a simulator like arma or squad44, it's more of an arcade or accesible fps but with several realistic elements ,and It's because of these realistic elements that HLL became so popular and is what it is today , otherwise people would go play BF V or something truly arcade. And if it had more realistic features it would be even better, not the opposite, not something as extreme as turning it into a walking simulator like squad, but rather improving or removing dumb things like that sound.

I don't think most of the players likes the BF feel the game has taken on in recent years. at least from the players who have been playing HLL since it was in early access.

I've been playing the game since around 2021 or so when it was still widely considered a realistic WW2 simulation. In my opinion, the arcadey feel of the game is what keeps it alive. Games like Squad 44 are fun for me, if I wanna just relax, but it can be really unfun for other people given the fact that the game has barely enough action in it to be compared to something like Hell Let Loose. The game is competitive for a reason, and nobody is truly forced to 'crawl through the map' or start taking their sweet time to get through the map just cause the enemy is suppressing them from afar. Although debatable, it's successful given the gameplay it has, not cause it's 'realistic' in any way. If you personally enjoy the game as a milsim or a realistic simulation where you try to roleplay as an actual soldier in World War 2, then that's cool if you have fun and just enjoy it. But, again, nobody is forced to play like that. The only way games are really winnable in servers that have decent players is by taking the game like it's BFV. Moving around swiftly and running and gunning, while also spotting the enemy before hand. Sure, this depends on the class you are playing, but if it ranges from Rifleman to other classes that partake the most in combat activities, then your sole objective is to just run and gun and clear the area for the rest of your teammates, or for teammates in more 'supportive' roles that won't be exactly useful in combat. I don't think the 'ding' sound is exactly a bad thing, as it's a hit notifier telling you that the enemy you were shooting at has been taken care of, and with this information you can advance freely. Although an example, there could be many other things done with this information, like alarming your teammates a sniper has been taken care of. If you don't realise you have already killed the sniper due to the absence of the ding sound, it can cause the game to stalemate or slow down an advancement despite you being better than the enemy.

So they should also add a killfeed so people can be sure if they've killed someone?? I think you're just making pointless excuses, because you really don't need sounds or anything to be sure you killed someone; just take a second shot and that's it, and not hearing the ding doesn't guarantee anything, the other guy could have hidden or run away. In my case at least the only time I remember the ding sound being "useful" was when some day I was firing suppressive fire at a smoke grenade an enemy had dropped, and out of nowhere that silly pot-banging sound went off and I realized I'd gotten a lucky headshot. Wow, how useful...

This game is already run and gun enough that the simple fact of not hearing a ding sound It should cause people to stagnate or not advance.. You can practically run at the same speed as a tank without stopping and it won't affect your aim, so even if what you say were true it wouldn't be so bad.

And I think it's good that the game isn't as slow as squad44, since I only play games like squad44 or arma when I have plenty of free time, so HLL is useful when I have little time to gaming and I'm looking for immediate action, so it's good that it stays that way, but there's a difference between an accessible fast paced FPS and a fast arcade garbage game like BF. And the game could perfectly well remain as accessible as it is even if they added more realism like hardcore squad44 style gunplay or remove some intrusive icons/sounds
Besides my point isn't so much about that is bad having a sound to indicate a headshot (I explicitly said that could be useful), but rather that it should at least sound really like a bullet shattering a helmet and not like a pot or bell being hit.

Take BF1 for exemple. BF1 has one of the best sound effects ever. When you hit a Headshot that "ding" is VERY satisfying. Something similar is in HLL too.

BF3 or 4 were better imo, with BF1 the downfall already began

What i think is needed is a different headshot sound for people wearing caps
Unless of course everyone has metal plates in their heads

What i think is needed is the option to turn off all hitsounds.
The ding we have now is good i think
