For some reason none of the vehicles other then tanks use manual gears, instead using a weird automatic system dispite already having animations and sound effects for manual gear shifting.
Adding manual gears to all vehicles would really help in moving slowly through areas you want to take it slow or backing out pits as lower gears (should) help with inclines and slopes.
At the very least make this an option in the settings like bolt action cycling for those who would like this

Absolutely NO ONE would play manual anymore unless they wanted specific speeds that only locking in a gear would give.

When I first read this suggestion, I thought it was a bad idea. Thinking about it, though, I think the manual transmission gives you more control over the speed, especially of the recon tank. And it would add a little more realism.
