There are complains about the German lvl6 rifleman being too strong, or G43s in pre-1943 maps. Add the predecessor, the G41. Just reskin the G43. It'll be more accurate in Stalingrad, Kharkov and some of the Normandy maps, and because it feeds from stripper clips, it will have a longer reload, thus balancing.
The FG42 sniper is out of place, it should be replaced by the scoped G43, it was way more common
#G41 and scoped G43

I have to fully agree with that, the fg-42 is fine in the automatic rifleman role but the sniper is out of place, Sadly they probably won’t change it since it’s already there
You forgot to mention that the G41 has an integrated magazine which means it's like the SMLE but automatic. It would be the perfect counterpart for the SVT-40.
I mentioned that. It will be historical accurate while keeping the balance. The SVT is a little bit better, because it can be loaded with magazines
Oh, I looked at the original message, sorry.
Technically the SMLE has a removable magazine but British soldiers were hardly ever issued spare magazines so they would just treat it like an internal magazine.
G41 would be really cool but idk how practical it would be if they left the g43 in the game, I think it would be cool if they added the scoped stg-44 rather than the fg-42, it was actually really common in recon squads during the middle parts of the war, but a semi auto g43 would be more balanced
For the most part, soldiers also used stripper clips for the G43
Scoped STG-44s were extremely rare. I could only find two pictures of Germans soldiers with them and one of them looks like a behind the lines propaganda picture. There is documented proof of significant scoped G43s going to snipers in the last two years of the war.
I just looked it up your totally right the source I was looking at was wrong, forgotten weapons has a full video on the scope and its use during the war, it did definitely exist but I would put it on the same level as the fg-42 scoped, mostly just for propaganda
The other picture I saw was a picture of a German soldier using a STG with a scope in the battle of Berlin, which kind of doesn't count. At that point in the war the Germans were throwing everything and the kitchen sink at the allies. You saw German soldiers fielding strange weapons that you never saw at any other point in the war just because they had them like the 10 prototype MG-45s (an even further simplified version of the MG-42).
I know, but in gaming, they mostly use magazines, it’s still a game afterall
Didn't know that.
If a weapons has a scope on it most of the time you cannot use stripper clips with it because the scope is in the way, which I think is a perfect counter to have with the g41, red orchestra has pretty accurate g41s with scopes, this is how I think they should do it if they add it then the standard variant could use clips https://youtu.be/DvODeubTQlg?si=6g8UjLLxZT3Zfhj1
Some kills with scoped G41(W) in RO2: Heroes of Stalingrad.
Classic Mode.
Cacanid quality.
I want to know what their thought process was when they decided to add a scoped fg42 over a scoped g41
