The BAR fires the same caliber as the M1 Garand. Damage should be either the same or very close to the Garand, at the moment a 2 hit kill is not good enough and just feels wrong especially with the amount of recoil it has and slow rate of fire when compared to the thompson. Also when comparing damage to the M1 carbine which fires a pistol caliber, in game the carbine just takes one hit to kill at close range when the BAR takes two hits which is ridiculous.

Not my experience tbh, for me it feels like something between the carbine and garand in damage aspects.
The damage is worse than the carbine, which is bad but especially bad when you consider this is a full rifle caliber coming out of a BAR, and a pistol caliber coming out of the carbine. And as I said the handling and fire rate feels as though the gun has been set up by the Devs to do strong damage but it just doesn't.

It's just a m1 but full auto, very rarely does it need a 2 shot, usually at long ranges.
On console, even point blank it needs two shots, the hit reg is really weird, even semis sometime need two taps up close

It’s because of the hit reg. It’s a 1 shot up to 100 meters and 2 shots past that. I do agree with we need to make weapon calibers similar. Barring the carbine and m1911 they should all act the same

Agreed, the Bar is brilliant, it's only downside is the horrendous recoil but to avoid that you don't hold the trigger down
