The Mareth line was a series of fortifications constructed by the french during the 1930s on the border between french-held Tunisia and italian-held Libya. After the defeat at El Alamein the battered German Africa corps decides to hold it against the British 8th Army. The battle lasts from March 16 to March 31 1943.

Renaming it to Mareth Line solves all major problems with the map in terms of historical accuracy.

The DAK and the 8th Army fight in this battle.

Takes place in southern Tunisia which is quite rocky and has a lot of ridges and hills and flora like the current iteration of El Alamein.

There is now a reason for the Tiger and the Panzer IV G( the model represented in the game) to be on this map.

Interesting, I didn't know about this battle, but what bothered me most about this rework in el alamein, is the way some things were done on the map, like that oasis, it looked terribly artificial, the buildings, objects were scattered randomly, as well as some trenches new, cannons, it doesn't look like a conflict scenario, planes fallen in some corners partially intact, there are some details that leave something to be desired, I still think that the ideal would be to add maps like Tobruk and Tunisia and eliminate this map, I had no problem with the previous el alamein, except with the British equipment that we didn't have but were added later... if Team 17 and Expression games can maintain the historical accuracy of maps based on maps and historical files and equipment according to the date of the conflict, it will be very good, we will have several experiences in the same game, just like the original idea of HLL where BM made very good maps such as Carentan and Foy with excellent historical accuracy very similar to the real world!
