I think, if implemented correctly, infantry or armor squads rolling a auto cannon such as a 20mm would be a interesting addition. It is the type of weapon that could be a worthy rework of artillery giving more variation to destructive weapons which could roll down a city street and create good suppression and damage on enemy infantry or maybe light vehicles. Mortars could also perform this in a different way by giving infantry closer ranged weapons that could be fired over objects and into an enemy location. Mortars would be great for assaulting on enemy garrisons or attacking outposts that are too hard to reach by a simple infantry assault. Engineers could build these auto cannons or mortars, or maybe an auto cannon could be operated by an armor unit.

Obviously these would have to be made correctly as to balance them in the allready chaoit world or hell let loose but I think it could be interesting.

Here’s an example of how I could invision autocannons being implemented.

That's how you would do it. Germans get the flak 38, Americans the browning machine gun, British the Vickers, Russians the DShK. for the MG emplacements they could have sandbags in front of them alongside aerial camo nets, the flak 38 could be surrounded by sandbags much like the one featured in COH2

What else would you suggest? I mean the Bofors for the Brits would be sick, then Soviets didn't have many heavy machine type weapons other than the DShk or the PM 1910 and the Americans the browning or Vickers. It would be like a heavy weapons loadout for high LVL engineer with a cap of maybe 2 per team. These weapons are asymmetric enough but I don't see any other possibilities other than the ones listed for a heavy machine style weapon system for each team

I’m glad you guys can actually invision this functioning cuz I don’t know many weapons but I thought the idea itself would be interesting if in some way it worked. Even though this probably won’t be added in the near future, I hope mortars are considered as a replacement for artillery in a patch at some point.

Mortars could be a support unlock and give em like 4 rounds and they have to set up like an mg and dial in like arty but have a shorter range

I don’t know how a mortar works in real life but I would like to see stuff like that
