#Wouldn't it be nice if our ears would ring when a tank exploded around us or a bomb fell next to us?

Yes! Be mint.... like a grenade goes off just in front of your trench. Would most likely impact you in some way.....

I think the same for getting wounded......

I can accurately fire back at range and kill someone who has hit me once.... this game was never meant to be Arma I get that.

But.... wound mechanics feel a bit cod 2001.

It's a good idea provided it's an option that can be toggled on or off, especially for people with sensitivity to higher frequencies that might be bothered by it

I'd suggest if you are bothered by high frequencies (regardless of condition) then hell let loose isnt the game for you.

The muzzle report for most weapons is in the high audio range..... the artillery..... a grenade sound of a similar frequency will not make a difference.

Inclusivity is fine but in this case silencers were not part of ww2.

I would also say that a toggle (like with foliage density) can/would be used to achieve game advantage.

I think the idea would be the same grenade sound anyway, but with a motion lag type effect to simulate concussion.

I'm sorry but there's a big difference between gunfire and the sound of grenades exploding and a literal ringing that genuinely causes people discomfort

I'm not bothered by the sound myself, but you have to be considerate for some people

I never mentioned anything about silencers, I don't know where that came from but it's in no way related to this post

And how is having it as a toggle option going to be a game advantage? It's literally just an effect when arty or a tank explodes near you, something meant to add to the atmosphere. Using the foliage density as an example isn't comparable in the slightest

insurgency sandstorm has a strong tinitus effect and its great for overall immersion and sound design, but it can also be disabled
I wouldnt complain if it was added as an option
And before anyone says anything of having the effect on would be a disadvantage, perhaps when its off it just muffles sounds and the tinitus would just be layered ontop of it

I take your point, and genuinely I get it more than most but this is where things become a little bit silly for me.....

I have ADHD myself and have triggers. I would not for a second think that the world has to adapt for me, but that I should learn to adapt for the world. None exposure doesnt encourage growth.

To cater for all conditions we would be back to playing cup and ball. For instance... does HLL cater for autism?

Noise sensitivity is a common issue for those with ASD.... are we to ban explosions to cater for autism? It is the same argument and is devoid of merit. You cannot cater for all as much as we might try and picking and choosing who we cater for (your suggestion) is equal or worse than not catering at all.

Are we to cut a few strings from a guitar to stop high pitched arpeggios?

The list goes on.

A game is what a game is... choose to play it or dont to fit your unique requirements.

In terms of ringing/high pitched screetch for sure... there are ways to cater for all which is why I suggested a concussion type effect. A ringing could be a dull bell type sound and I agree you could limit frequency.

To toggle or not to toggle a concussion vision/ringing sound would be a huge advantage 🤣....

Your vision would be slightly blurred and you wouldnt be able to hear sound in the same way as someone who has toggled it off.

In the same way that less detail in the grass obscures vision.

I like Celdis's idea.... a muffled sound when toggled off instead of a high pitched version that still impacts what you can hear is a great solution 🤣
