I do not understand why the halftrack in this game is a mobile garrison. There are other vehicles in this game that could act as a mobile garrison if t17 wants to keep the design in the game. One of these is the SdKfz 247 (6-Rad) which is literally a mobile command station. The the command car (yes I know very intuitive name) for the Americans as their mobile garrison hell they could make that the Soviet one if they wanted. The British could use the AEC 4x4 ACV. As their mobile garrison.
#Make The Halftrack into an actual APC/Light Support vehicle

I'd love if somehow they could shift the games travel from teleporting through garrisons to actually using vehicles during a match. because all transport trucks get used for is the start of a match then they are completely pointless, because garrisons can take you anywhere aslong as you have them placed.
Literally nothing stopping you from using it as a APC. 2 man squad 1 guy as gunner 1 driver. Tell blue berries to get on and drive them to the point. Or alternatively drive, deploy to get a few spawn waves, move and repeat. If the gunner or driver gets killed drive away and deploy so he can get back on. Its fun and I've done it a few times.
Id love to see the command panzers be used rather than a halftrack
Did something similar once, told cmdr, got yelled at. Never again.
I think adding a second halftrack that is purely an armored assault vehicle and not a spawn point would be great
Also some people in this thread https://discord.com/channels/316459644476456962/1135783688718790766 suggested that a CP could spawn vehicles like that so maybe you don’t have to drive all the way from spawn there by making it more common to use transports
could even just allow transport vehicle spawns on a locked strong point tbh. I'd be fine with that
100% agree. I like the idea of having 2 different halftracks. I think its also worth bringing up that a halftrack is 1 shot to an AT rocket. Me personally I think it should be a 2 shot. Thoguhts?
Isn't that not "realistic" if we make a half track more durable? The armor plate is like only 15 mm its very thin.
I'm not an expert, but here's the way I see it.
If you shoot the halftrack from the front, the engine would be disabled, and potentially explode, destroying the whole half track. However, I think it would be more likely that the engine would just be disabled and not blow up the whole half track. I say this, because the engine is essentially extra armor on the front. On the back/cargo area, I think it should be a 1 shot because of how thin that armor is.
Costs too much to use in an assault. Doesnt protect occupants from explosions. Easy to shoot passengers, and even the driver, if you get elevation on it. Dies to everything, even a flamethrower. Does not explode if left idle, so a stuck halftrack will forever clutter the vehicle slots. Needs work.
Halftrack garrisons are just another example of the devs just throwing things into the game without adjusting current implementations to reflect the addition.
HTs are just less efficient and cumbersome to use spawnpoints, so there's next to no reason for players use them in comparison to the other spawning methods that we have already. A lot of people's impression prior to them being added was that HTs would introduce less reliance on spawn teleportation, and now sensibly needing to at least actually traverse the map into ungained territory in order to spawn there, and to rid of the stationary spawn methods. But of course, that was wrong. There's no reason to use HTs when the standardized alternative is to just readily teleport instead.
That’s why I stated the things we could use as mobile garrisons
Could use these too. Command panzers
Yes please, halftracks carrying 6-8 would be awesome
I think you should be able to disable it with one shot from the bazooka but in order to completely blow it up it should be two shots
