At the start of the game keep the spawn of normal transport trucks but instead of spawning transport trucks throughout the match (which end up underused) spawn Jeeps which have more utility and transport trucks rarely have more than 4 attendants so it could help recon squads when there is no commander meaning that everyone gets to the fight quicker
#Spawn Jeeps throughout the game instead of transport trucks

spawn both
Yes
Transport trucks are useless after the first spawn, it NEVER happens that you need to transport 12 people after a match start and if it ever happens it means that there is seriously something wrong with your team.
If jeeps are made default though they shouldn’t be able to drop ammo crates, otherwise they’ll encourage random AT to just take one at spawn and go around with triple their explosives without staying with their squad
Jeeps can drop ammo crates??
Yes, they refill ammo, explosives and (I might be mistaken) bandages too, 2 crates
Honestly the transport truck and supply truck should just be one vehicle that drops supplies and transport guys in the back. Then the default spawns should be jeep, truck and halftrack
Since Jeeps were added, I have probably seen about 10 or so.
Makes me wonder how many got the "Destroy 50 Jeeps" trophy/achievement naturally without boosting.
Now that you mention it I haven’t seen a 4x4 since the update that bought them.
Default jeeps would be a very good asset. I also touched on this a while back here: https://discord.com/channels/316459644476456962/1114750823247925318
@silent ember I don't think there is any issue with default spawning jeeps dropping ammo crates, a jeep makes playing AT more dynamic and interesting. If you're worried about AT players running off without their squad, they can always be kicked from said squad. But from my experience I have done a lot of tank hunting as an AT with the jeep, very rarely having problems with others in the squad, as I am often doing it with another player who works with me in this very effective AT strategy. Also, I don't think such a strategy is overpowered, or cheating in any way at all, because if I can do it, the enemy team is perfectly capable of doing the same to my team. To me, the jeep meta has become an essential aspect of not only recon, but also AT, and I'd hate to see it removed. If you have any doubts or questions on this, feel free to view my thread on the matter above.
That’s the issue, it’s a too effective strategy and ATs popping out of nowhere with triple the explosive isn’t really a good thing for the balance of the game.
“If I can do it the enemy team can do it too” it’s a really poor way of seeing how game balance works. Everyone hates artillery and want it changed, but the enemy has it too so…
It’s certainly a very effective strategy when one knows what he’s doing, however, I think the riskiness and required focus/experience for such a strategy balances it out a good deal. It often only takes one shot to kill someone, especially when he finds himself maneuvering a jeep in a dangerous area.

Good idea.
Boosting this because everyone thinks it's a good idea

a jeep in the mid HQ would be nice for the commander

i don't want to be a killjoy here
but if there are jeeps right at the beginning as hq spawn,
in the future the officers will climb on the jeep as many as fit on it and then drive to the cap because it is the fastest vehicle in the game and then there will only be more rush, such issues should not be ignored.
i don't think that a great prospect i would like to have less rush and steamrollers and more of a battle feeling with tactical actions and flanking.
Cant wait for a random to steal it lol
It is what it is
Then have trucks spawn at the start instead
I guess a good counter to this would be to have the jeeps spawn in when the pre-game barrier opens so that when the jeeps spawn, the trucks will already be ahead and first into action.

They should be in limited numbers.
There are already natural spawns of transport trucks, what I'm saying is that all natural spawns past the first 3 should be Jeeps, transport trucks are obselete and take up space in vehicle limit past the first 10 mins of game
@rose field if you read the Original Post then you'd see I say that I want to keep the transport trucks as the default spawn at the start of the game but yeah I agree with your point where having them at the start would be bad
Ohhhh ok yeah I like that idea

Makes a lot of sense. Jeeps are really underrated in my opinion, they are fast and contrary to transport trucks they drop ammo. I also feel like halftracks should spawn naturally. They can be a good mean of transport too
Yeah I think people aren't asking command for enough halftracks in matches today. They are taken for granted way too often.
Hopefully people doing the new shooting range/tutorial will help them find out about half tracks, a lot of people are worried about blueberries turning on the half track engine and stuff like that, I think they're too OP to spawn naturally (just like heavys)
There have been times where I have used a half-track to spawn and someone will get in it and use it as their personal transport.
I always use jeeps for any excuse I get, especially crossing the map
Why?
If I encounter enemies they can't hit me because I'm drifting to much, and you can't anticipate where I'm going if not even i know what direction I'm going
yeah they just refill everything, its a commander ammo drop but split into 2 boxes of 6 instead of one box of 12
@green field a big reason why halftracks get little use is because they take 300 fuel that could be spent on heavy tanks
A big reason halftracks get little use is because some brain dead rifleman is going to jump in and drive it towards the enemy if it’s parked longer than two mins.
300 fuel is an absolute steal for how effective they can be when used properly.
Maybe only squad leads and commander should be able to turn on engine, or level cap the half-tracks
I disagree. Both are good and having them speller are is nice. Also I think transport trucks should also spawn alongside jeeps throughout the game because I have used them to transport a crap ton of of troops from hq after a bunch of guys died
I'm the kind of guy who will sit in the driver's seat to prevent this from happening
What a chad
Yes
In my experience I've never needed more than 4 spaces in a transport truck, and if it's in a scenario where we do need them then they should be spawned by commander (also reduce cost of transport trucks to 50 fuel)
That but even more than that the fact that any vehicle besides tank = less tanks, and good luck fighting decently skilled heavy tanks without tanks.
That's why good commanders will usually only spawn trucks and halftracks as a very last resort or in case there are no tankers on the team.
And that's why I fully support cheaper trucks/jeeps/halftracks or autospawning them, because otherwise they have their use. It's just that heavy tanks are way better in comparison.
Heavy tanks are ‘better’ depending on what you’re trying to do.
Halftracks are incredibly effective red zone spawns, particularly close to the point. Easily overwhelm an objective.
Even with three heavy tanks on the field, as long as crews aren’t being wasteful or dying to often I can keep heavies coming and still have spare for halftracks. Best of both worlds.
It is quite logical that they should not be regular redzones.
If you think about it a bit, you'll come to the conclusion on your own where the half-tracks are super good for.
Either way half-tracks are too OP to be naturally spawned but Jeeps would be fine (awesome)
I think 1 natural spawn half track is fine its got 60 s respawn timer which is long.
Jeeps should only be spawned at the same spawn as the recon tank so that they aren't overused, that's even if they should be auto spawned.

absolutely agree that transport trucks are useless after initial spawn. cant see something that big being widely used in the middle of a battlefield after the fighting has started
halftracks i try to use once i get to about 900 fuel sometimes since it leaves me a reserve of 600 for a heavy, but the inability to lock movement to officers only is a massive problem. cant count how many times i see someone not just move it, but move it directly towards the frontline of enemy fire. like the level of missing braincells to move it between the both teams instead of behind friendlies makes no sense to me. while i agree having a remote spawn with no supply require on just 300 fuel can be a steal, i have also found it to be to expensive, especially if tank crews are not surviving past 5-10 mins in a single tank.
i may try to deploy more jeeps though. if it means setting up ambushes for enemy tanks should my crews be bad crews, it may be a better use of fuel
