#Add the Vickers Gas-Operated No 2 Mk I to the British Machine Gunner role.

Unlike the Lewis gun the Vickers No 2 Mk I actually saw land combat multiple times by frontline troops.
My suggestion would be either make this be the last gun unlocked for the MG class or have it replace the Lewis gun and hope we get the bipod for the Bren.
It differed from the mounted Vickers aircraft gun, “Vickers GO No.2 Mk.1 Land Service machine gun differs from its parent weapon by having spade grip replaced with short wooden stock at the rear and a pistol grip with trigger below the receiver. A short forend or a folding carrying handle are added below the gas cylinder, and folding bipod is attached to the gas block. New iron sights are provided on folding bases.”
• The gun was used during Operation Overlord in the 1944 Normandy landings by the Commandos at Sword Beach.
• The Gun was used during Operation Infatuate.
• The Gun was used during Operation Market Garden.
Although the gun wasn’t common it still saw more combat by land based troops than the Lewis.
The Gun has a 100 round drum magazine and a rate of fire that can help the British to compete with the German MG34 with its 900 rpm.

The Vickers MkI No2 was an improvisation of the British Royal Air Force. They needed arms for airbase defense, without unduly impacting the production o...

In our next of the Machine Gunner Mannequin series, we take a look at the equipment worn by an ammunition carrier for the Vickers 'K gun' detachment of No. 4 Commando during Operation OVERLORD on 6 June 1944. The main focus is the ammunition pouches but we discuss a few other aspects as well.
Also, as I say in the video, we want to ensure most ...

The Vickers Machine Gun Collection and Research Association would be happy to advise 😁
In response to the Hell Let Loose British faction released in patch 14 update, yesterday 25th May, we were asked to look at the Lewis and Bren and ask a few questions on how they were used in the game. Take a look and let us know what you think.
One point: Rich refers to the Lewis as an ‘Automatic Machine Gun’ which isn’t a title it was commonl...
yes
Those guys have such a good underrated YouTube channel.

Commando with the mobile Vickers in the game ‘CLASSIFIED:
FRANCE '44’
It’s also used in ‘Company of Heroes’ and in Battlefield
Vickers K GO makes about as much sense as the Lanchester. Its use in Market Garden seems flimsy as the only photos come from post war films. Not to mention the lewis gun similarly being used in isolated battles that arent in the game, in this case the early Pacific. This doesnt improve anything from a hisorical side
Should just be a Vickers Machine Gun. HMGs need to make it into the game at some point if they want these minor factions
@queen tartan No one’s arguing that it was a rare gun but at least it saw actual combat with ground forces and there’s historical pictures to prove this. You’ll be hard done to find any pictures of a Lewis gun being used in a combat operation by British ground forces in WW2.
My point being the Vickers No 2 Mk I was more likely to be seen in combat by ground forces in WW2 than the Lewis gun and should then replace it.
I would see the Bren with a Bi-pod being the starter weapon for the British MG class and then the Vickers No 2 Mk I being a higher unlock like level 8 and call it Commando.
Because the Lewis gun served in the early pacific which is less photographed in general. I managed to find one, which is about 2 (?) less than the vickers GO has. This does not improve authenticity and if it's locked to lvl 8 there's no balance purpose either
Just add a normal vickers

@queen tartan the Vikers GO was used on mass by Indian troops as it was selected by the Indian army, it was phased out in favour of the Bren gun but it was used in its thousands.
Wrong vickers. You're thinking of the Vickers Berthier.
