Command que the drop similar to airhead and the first 10 people to click spawn on it get dropped where the Commander selected

This would be great for picking off vulnerable targets in the air!

Make a map that started with all Allies spawning in a massive airdrop... Landing randomly all across the map in an offensive mode.

It sounds ok. But it should be only for SLs and Spotters.

So many people willingly want to become cannon fodder stuck in the air, it’s a reason most airborne missions happened in the dark, or near friendly lines.

Yes and no with this idea
Pros:
-Badass
-New way of spawning

Cons:
-Will be too easy for the Axis to find you and kill you (easy kills)
-Could create confusion among friendlies who arent paying attention (since both teams would be able to use this ability)

For sure its badass, on your point about easy kills. Its just as easy for the enemy team to find an Airhead floating down and camp the mass spawn OR the airhead gets placed in an area that's just too far away to use. As for confusion, not sure that it would create that much confusion but you can build on that.

Presumably, this ability would be used for a basic flank, factors come into it. Height of jump, length of fall and area of the jump. Infantry would be spaced out on the jump and on the map when using the ability I presume it would look much like a strafing ability except a shorter distance, The commander would obviously need to be careful on the placement. Then you have the added issue of landing on top of a roof on large buildings like on Carentan and sliding off to your death or just getting stuck up there. It would work in both urban warfare and open spaces, but it all comes at a risk. Just like Airheads.

To fix the "You're an easy target" issue, just have the Commander choose which direction the plane will go (like bombing runs now). Then, load up the plane and let the player decide when they jump. They can jump at any time, which makes it unpredictable for the enemy. You might have 20 jump near the Objective, while the next 30 jump farther away. Spreads out the attack.

The only thing I'd limit here, is the ability to jump into the enemy HQ. Do not, under any circumstances allow players to jump into the enemy HQ. It's just OP.

Why not? Airheads can go there?

Id say let the SLs and Spotters to jump or make the commander able to pick which squads are allowed to jump. If It stays the way when whoever is first jump, it will make the blueberries swarm spawn and plane and It will become useless

Will this effect fps, render or graphics? Also will the jump just be a cinematic of you jumping out of the plane and landing, or jump and land will be player controlled on descent?

This should be implemented as a feature specific to the area of operations. Perhaps, to the likes of Crete for Axis, and night before DDAY in Normandy for the Allies. I feel this would be an initial entry spawn, where characters continue spawning until the secure the objective. Sort of like a reverse Omaha but in the sky.

It’s just unlikely, I don’t imagine this happening. If it happened at the start of the match for a game like caretan since that was 101st airborne and fallschrimjagers then yea, but mid game ? Y’all do know they plan on adding AA guns right ? It was on the roadmap, not to mention the actual machine guns they have. On top of this paratroopers aren’t in one file line they’re spread out. Due to that and how small the maps are it wouldn’t make much sense. If the maps were bigger it could be a great feature, but as it is now parachuting might be more obvious than a airhead.

This missing feature was like the first thing that i felt was missing in the game for gameplay reason and that immersion on the battlefield. (The france maps needs this and they could have dusk or night versions like some other maps allready have for those arguing paratroopers was mostly used during night).

I would like this if you could reserve it for a squad or 2 and not have it be just 1st come 1st serve.

I don’t think this should be implemented in the current game modes for previously stated reasons, but I do think it could be something that is done for the future “objective” game mode that is incoming where the objective involves crete or D-Day and the player’s parachutes in while it’s night time where players spawn in in random areas across the map (regardless of enemy presence). Then from there transition to OP’s and garries.

In other words, have this be something specific to a game mode scenario, not the game as a whole

Either way, it would probably take Team17 a couple of years to develop and release something like this at the rate they are going. By that time a quarter of the player base would have left anyway and moved on.

# median fjord War crime!!1

Technically not a war crime if they are enemy combatants landing with the intent to engage you. The only time it is a war crime is if it a pilot. The pilot has been "disarmed" with the loss of his plane and is therefore an unarmed combatant. Now if the pilot starts shooting then he loses this immunity. But Airborne troops are fair game all the time

Maps are most likely too small currently to allow paratrooping of any kind. Unless only Recon had the ability to do it, it would be way too overpowered. But again, maps are small already, so you wouldn't even need the capability on recon when you can just give them a jeep and they can make it across the map in 5min.

Also, H&G died for a reason. The devs didn't care about balance, and the game suffered heavily for it.

Make paratrooping a commander ability that can only be used 2 times during the game once he activates it there is a timer of 45 seconds to fill 1 plane with 2squads or 12 people or maybe 2 planes 24 people once timer is done squads parachute in spread out within a 250m radius of wherever the commander placed the ability...also make it a 15-30sec drop time

I know this idea sounds cool, but again it wouldn't work on this particular game. H&G had paratroopers, they were interesting because the maps were gigantic, and you could reasonably use the ability to drop into enemy territory. On HLL you can see across nearly the entire map at any given time (hill maps being the exceptions of course). You would see the paratroopers coming in anytime they dropped. HLL isn't the game for this.

Well, as most of the posts, these are merely ideas without much throughput. As an idea, it is welcomed and very exciting. However, seldom are players thinking through optimization, implementation, and mechanical fundamentals respective to the gameplay. It goes without saying "don't make it complicated", but you have to travel down that rabbit hole to understand how the development of such features could impact the game. As I've stated before, I would propose something that is feasible and doesn't redefine the existing games mechanics.

For example, the respective airborne unit spawns in their aircraft at the beginning battle of said map or battle, akin to Omaha or Utah beach, where you have players spawning until they are able to establish a strong hold. Once a point is taken, they are no longer able to spawn. This is something that could be implemented with little turn around, doesn't break the core mechanics, and gives the illusory experience of an airborne drop to satiate those high level "needs and wants" of the community. This would also be a potential addition to new game modes and perhaps even offensive as an initial airborne drop on the first point, which even now favors the assault.

I think there adding this in July on the road map it says 101st airborne dlc

Its very unclear as to whether its a cosmetic pack or a subfaction, but either way theyre not adding mid game parachute drops.
Aside from the optimization issue of rendering the game that high up, its also a fundamental misunderstanding of how paradrops work. You dont paradrop a single squad, you paradrop an entire division
