Morning! I just got the game for PS5 and would like to either join a clan or squad of casual players. Since I'm like a super-old dude... like for real old, I'm pretty laid back and don't mind being a good teamplayer since I can't hit water from a boat anyway. Yes, I have headset. I'm also super slow and balding (not sure it's relevant, but it i s bothering me so..) I'm from Scandinavia (yup, that's in Europe) so I like paying taxes and being cold in the mornings - again with the relevancy. I dunno. Other old and slow kinda weird folks out there in mainland Europe? Love to hear from you.

Hey got a question, How do I get generally better at the game without people getting pissed or annoyed at me, I seem to try play any class and people tend to just turm angry if im not doing it their way, I do it their way then next match it repeats, Then I play something like tank and my command screams at me telling me to stop a tank moving 20, Gear 4 in .2 seconds? Or in other words, whats a play style everyone likes?

The way I do it is rotate the artillery gun to align the line with the marker, then check the distance of the marker and check how the vertical angle needs to be

hehe, place your marker a bit further for safety. Allies will still be stupid enough to run into your arty (and even blame you evne though those shells have been landing there for ages) anyway so a tk will happen here and there.

Lol It doesn't mean anything to me. It does say it in game & honestly I didn't realize until I just looked as not a single person in the community has ever referred to it as a unit in my experience.

All squad leaders and every single commander I've played with use the term squad for referring to the 6 man squads so I figured unit was a bigger team. My bad

@strong sluice you can check out the #console-divisions-recruitment channel if you want to team up with people that communicate. This looking for unit channel has become pretty barren lately. Your best choice is to pick a division/group/clan in there that fits or suits you and experience the game in a totally different manner. You will love it my friend trust me ;)

If anyone's interested, we'll be holding a BCT tonight at roughly 2000 GMT, and another one later for the American side.

The focus of our Basic Combat Training (BCT) is to teach unit history, team history, core values & creed of the US Army. You'll also receive an introduction to the first battle drill you'll need to know, "Squad Attack". After a demonstration, you and your fellow trainees will rehearse this drill.

Advanced Individual Training is focused on your education of US Army tactics of WW2, derived straight from the field manual. After watching a couple of videos and receiving a block of instruction, your drill sergeants will answer any questions and take you on a training mission, then into live combat.

There may not be private servers, but the game itself is conducive to MilSim. We're able to train effectively on public servers until private is released.

Have your fun that way, what can I say.
It's like being a grown ass adult and being proud of beating a child.
The other team may have 2 or 3 squad leaders talking at best, units not coordinating and low level players and here you go with a full team stack making games last 10 minutes.
I understand it may be fun trying being a full team some times but if you do this regularly you just enjoy steamrolling and ruining other people fun.

Split your squads and matchmake at the same time, you'll be probably facing each other with how low the population is and have good battles against peers.

We do it once a week, and I don‘t see why we shouldn‘t? This game is made to work together, so of course it‘s nice to have as many squads as possible in one lobby working together… the steamrolling part I agree, but did we ever bragged about winning those games? 😅 So I don‘t see your point „being proud of that“ is childish we never said we‘re proud of those games. We would love to fight other clans, but it‘s just not possible at the moment. Btw just for your info, what we did after was getting other squads of our clan on the enemy side and we fought each other… 😉

This will be my last message about that topic because we could argue for another hour about it. There are just 2 ways of seeing it and on each side there are valuable points.

I agree for the other side. But as I said this game is made for tactics, strategic thinking and teamplay. So should you leave all that behind, just because it‘s not working on both sides? If you think about those games, ignoring those clantags behind our names, that would be how this game should be played. In addition to this, clans are a big help for new players to get into this game. Because we take them by their hands, no matter how experienced they are. (I‘m not saying that other „non-clan“ people aren‘t doing that aswell, don‘t understand me wrong). But this game has no tutorial and 8 of 10 games you land in a squad with a SL under lvl 25, and mostly non-mic people. So a lot of people never even get into the beauty of this game, the way it could be with people actually communicating.
Further as I said those Events are once, maybe twice a week. And if we‘re not playing those events we are as „tiny“ squads in random games aswell. If there is space in the squads we take randoms in aswell and if you will believe me or not most of those guys having the time of their life and often ends up in them joining the clan.

This a teamwork game, we want to play gamed where we have everyone on the same page. All squads, armour, recon and command workings together because that's how this game was designed to be played. This is literally the vision the Devs had when making hell let loose. We don't have a server browser or private servers so we make due with what we have. Why would we split the group up and match make separately when the entire point of being in a clan is to work together? Why would I as a player want to play with bunches of randoms who aren't talking or working with the team? Why are you getting so butthurt about a group of people having fun with a video game, the way the video game was made to be played?

All I'm saying is you have the numbers to split and make a fun experience also for the people on the other team, 20 vs 20 is still a fun clan experience if not better compared to 40 vs randoms. You're just being selfish and caring of YOUR fun with 50 people stacks because you perfectly know what you're causing to the other team.

And I'm not criticizing or discussing the importance of clans as a way of teaching new people the ways, it's the contrary, I firmly believe clans should also teach good manners/etiquette and fair play, things that I see lacking with steamrolls you do.

The vision of the devs is surely not to put 40 experienced and coordinated people against a bunch of dads that can only play the game on Sundays.

Completely agree mate, steam rolls aren't fun for anyone. Personally I worry about new people being on the receving end, as this will turn them away from this amazing game.

We are currently working on 1st vs 1st events to possibly stop this kind of thing but it can be awkward due to the public servers.

Agreed, no need for any insults. We are all here for a bit of fun and a laugh with friends.

Hopefully we can sqaud up some time, always great to sqaud up with new people 👍

@toxic basin there's a group that I play with callled the 1st. Infantry division. We are arguably the largest group on console now.

Not really a proper hardcore milsim. No body calling each other sir and shit but there is a rank system and everyone plays competitively/ tactically in games. Might be what you are looking for.

Good mix of EU and US and run weekly events which fill up entire servers.

Hey, I just played a match against people from the VOID clan and they absolutely had members on the opposing team giving away our Garry locations as well as other intel. Some guy named Cpt Merica95 was a Tank Commander and his 3 man tank crew didn’t have a single kill the entire game until they started team killing and got kicked or left. The other guy that was with them was MoneyShot USMC_1. Then, the very next game they were back on the other team with the rest of their VOID buddies. That’s absolutely shameful and nobody should put up with that kind of garbage.

I play with them a fair bit, the are a great bunch, and really look down on this sort of behaviour, nobody in their discord goes by those names, they have had people just using the clan tag and doing stuff like this to make them look bad.. so take clan tags with a pinch of salt ..
