Non English servers always put the language in the title. Assuming you're in Europe, just look for low ping servers that don't mention a language. There are loads

probably a total noob question but I have some weird situations sometimes.

Enemy is visible to me - not too far away. I am shooting like 30 rounds or so and he keeps walking. I tried hitting the main body/legs/head/firing ahead of his path etc.

Enemy is completely out of view. Before I die I see roughly where the shot came from. Nothing at all visible that there was an enemy. Not even a dot. How can he see me? I assume a sniper? I then spawn 3-4 times again and go completely different locations on the map. Same thing seems to happen. I see no one and then bam a shot out of nowhere in front of me and I am dead.

I spawn in a house and run out the back/side. Away from any action. About 20-30 meters from the house I suddenly get hit by artillery. I am completely alone and there is no one else around. Why would artillery go down in the middle of nowhere?

I've just started my first game and after around 10 min and having killed 5 or 6 enemies I was banned from the server for cheating, I have never cheated in my life which is why I'm a bit surprised, especially since it's a hardcore shooter witch basically one shot one kill, did anyone else experience that?

Fun fact: your eyes are actually closer to the centre of your body/neck in game, exaggerating these kinds of things. Often times you think you’re behind something, but your head is still sticking out.

The only real gripe I have currently with movement and stuff related to that are the bipods on the MG. Placing a bipod in most trenches will result with your entire line of sight being obstructed by grass.

I really don't get the aiming in this game.
I tried it as a rifleman and as machine gunner.
Enemy is visible to me - not super far away (I am on his backside - he is not moving), full body. I try aiming directly, slightly above, had/body in general etc.
single shots, short bursts, or just full auto. 2-3 full magazines. The guy doesn't die.
He spots me for half a second and 1 shots me through cover.
How do I even know that I hit him/where my bullets hit? There is no indicator for any impact?
I also have no indicator from where bullets are coming from.
Or am I missing something?
In another case (the train map) I am hiding in between some rubble in a house hiding there for like 5 minutes without moving.
Then I peak out of a hole and I immediately get shot from the other side of the map with full-auto instantly dead.

There are no persistent stats, the only thing the game tracks is your in game stats (for that match), if you play on privately owned community servers they sometimes have 3rd party stats tracking

I don't think it would be a very useful aiming method though you need to be precise and that would be hard with a mouse as weird as that might sound.
Because you don't want to be over traveling and making really small changes when bumping your mouse or anything.
I think you might be able to emulate what you want with joy2key though even with a regular mouse but you'd need to toggle it on/off as you got into the gunners seat

Yes but no if you play on community servers because bans are shared between servers.
If you're playing on moderated servers no.
The amount of cheaters isn't large, but they generally get caught very quickly.
Sorry when I say 0 moderation I mean that there are no admins, they probably also share in that ban system (would be my guess at least), but it probably isn't as quick, and it also doesn't take things that actively moderated servers will do like boot team killers, toxic people, handle harassment, etc.
I shouldn't say 0 moderation because I think there's some potential that they manage ban lists centrally for all of them with the same cheating reports, but you can't ping someone and have them show up in server and handle an issue like you can on a community server.

There are volume controls in setting under audio
if they are maxed and you're still having trouble, trying turning the sound effects and music etc down (leaving voip and master max), turning your PC volume up to hear that and eventually you'll find a balance that suits

You need to join a recon squad that already has a spotter in it. Spotter is the “officer” of recon, so you become spotter when creating a recon squad and can’t switch to sniper. It can be tough if you don’t find someone to group up with and play to set it up, as most spotters have a friend joining

Aight for all the newbies out there, place, replace, and protect garrisons! Try not to just rush directly into a point but cut the point off from any spawn points, then make your way inside the point, play for the purpose of being a crucial member of the squad NOT for the purpose of simply killing the enemy. I recommend learning roles like support, engineer, anti-tank until you learn the ins-and-outs of the game fundamentals. While these roles may seem “complex,” in reality they aren’t bad AT ALL and they actually will provide a massive help in learning the functions of each game.
I know that’s random but just felt like it may help to a certain degree 🙂

well in that case, i hope im free to ask a question 😄 im somewhat new, only like lv35 or so. i read in the wiki about garrisons and found that they show enemy near in 50m radius and get disabled in 15m, but then it says that red zone garrisons lock at 100m already, dont they just mean it shows enemies within 100m? or how does it really work as it would seem weird if forward garris already get locked at 100m. its not how it feels in game either

annoying for engineers trying to make nodes
Did you consider rotating on support and dropping supplies for yourself in the HQ? There are good hiding spots so you almost never lose those nodes. You also get additional points for dropping supplies for yourself (drop the ammo/he boxes too, and plant mines).
You will finish these nodes at around the same time as if you got the first truck at the beginning of the game. The only disadvantage is sometimes you have to jump from squad to squad when switching between engineer and support. But fortunately engineer and support are very often not taken in squads (a major sin in my estimate), so I literally do this every single game.
The first supply truck should always be used for garrison building (at least it gives your team a huge advantage compared to an earlier set of nodes). And what grinds my gears is engineers that leave supply trucks on nodes in the middle of nowhere. If you get the supply truck, at least bring it to a nearby garrison or an HQ so that SLs can use it for backup garrisons. Ofc it's still a hundred times better than a team of 50 where noone else bothers to get those nodes up, so props for doing your part soldier.

There is enough time in the warm up for command to drop a second supply truck, so it doesn’t really matter who takes the first one imo. But yes, please always return your trucks to the shopping cart corral when finished.
I laugh when people get upset over taking the first one as engi, although I won’t if there’s no command, and I at least wait if anyone else so chooses to get in

Yeh I get ye. I used to play Insurgency sandstorm and that was the first game I had played that had a need for decent comms, even though most games I'd been involved in on that game, people rarely used comms in a big way.

Dawg, game devs across the industry have essentially been in a state of perpetual crunch for 25 years. I can guarantee they spend almost every waking hour working on the game and probably wanted it out long ago as well, but that's just not how it works a majority of the time. Add in the fact that they're targeting parity with the console version, and things slow down even more. BM is also a small international studio as well, so not everyone's under the same roof. BM is also now corporately backed, which introduces its own share of changes and arguably issues.
T17 aren't even the main devs of the game yet
I'm not excusing them for the lack of communication or transparency or even the (subjective) quality of the game itself, but still; I guarantee they've been working on it a ton

We thought the same about the AT gun, but they are changing its damage values in U12. I suspect they don't see it as a pressing issue.

Yeah that's what I thought. It was supposed to have the penetration power of a heavy, but do less damage. Its been an acknowledged bug since U11, but clearly not a priority to fix.

I have been playing for a long time, the cannon fodder stuff you’ll get used to it. But over time you will find it easier to move from cover to cover
Also. You will need alot of patience, I’ve had moments where I had to stay in cover for 10 minutes. Which is good in my opinion, that’s how a realistic war game should be

Tanks are 1:1 with the exception of the light tanks in each faction. The factions are mostly 1:1 in offense/defense with the exception of some base infantry differences. It's really the maps that are going to affect how a faction will perform unless the team is on top of it. The Russian maps are rough to play on, it's either roll or get rolled; I haven't seen many close matches in that regard compared to Western Front.
You have any proof of this? Looking at their stuff now, and not really seeing anything to indicate that other than some of them maybe being wehraboos.

It's a bit confusing considering the devs are definitely trying to target a 1:1 with everything while also trying to have asymmetrical balancing with historic loadouts and squad compositions and whatnot. I think it starts to blur heavily once you hit level 3 with like every class because you'll have access to semi-autos - which absolutely level the playing field.
Semi-autos can go up against anything at any typical engagement range competently

Sometimes people can be a bit harsh especially to newer players, I don't agree with that and will usually try to get them to settle down.

Ask folks in-game in local or squad chat. Follow your squad leader if you don't know what else to be doing, literally stick to them like glue or until they tell you to do something specific. If not the squad leader, literally just cling to the closest guy next to you and follow them around as if they know what they're doing. Did they get shot going around a corner? Don't go that way.
Better yet, don't follow a mob. Squad size is ok but two or three squads all heading in the same narrow path? You're asking to get mowed down. I'd rather spend a minute taking a detour than a minute in the respawn screen followed by all the time getting back to the exact same spot to die on again.

My time maining SL mostly consisted of BSing with the pubs who had mics and doing my best to keep them engaged and entertained enough to go along with whatever lengthy flanking maneuver I had in mind.
This was also back in the days of putting nodes as far forward as possible... Before supply trucks. so I often had the unfortunate task of doing that because nobody else would. Which means half my squad is running around headless while me, the supply guy (RIP, you killed yourself a lot) and the engi were off in a corner somewhere far away from everything building.

SL, and two guys rotating support/whatever. Flank to set up sneaky garrisons behind enemy lines (rotating supports to drop supplies), snipe enemy tanks coming to the fight etc, essentially become a semi-recon unit. I've had some fun games with my friends doing that.

You can choose the map rotation yes.
But be aware it isn't as simple as just paying for a server, you have to seed the server (kick start it with a batch of players every day so that random players will show up) and it requires active moderation to, even if vote kicks are enabled.

Well, realistically speaking 4 people isn't enough no, because what's going to happen is the larger communities out there are going to have more than 4 people, they'll pile on, and players that are looking to join a server that isn't full are much more likely to go to a server that has say 10 or 15 people on it than one that has 4.
You'll end up in perpetual seeding hell where you have those couple people on, but you just keep getting jumped.
You can hop on https://www.battlemetrics.com/servers/hll/ and filter down to servers for your region, servers that aren't empty, sort descending, and at the time of day you're trying to seed you can see the competition.
I mean you can certainly try, I don't want to discourage you just make you aware of the actual amount of work you're setting out to undertake.
It's hard to boot strap a community and it takes a community to make a community server successful.
So just an example, https://www.battlemetrics.com/servers/hll?minPlayers=2&countries=DE&sort=players that's just Germany (I can't do the US right now because it's the wrong time of day) but you can see how there's quite a few servers with just a couple of people on.

#pc-seeding-help but I wouldn't count on that at all. You can also try just joining an existing community, different places manage their map pools in different ways.
and it's not that you can't make a community, just starting from scratch is hard, you could get a discord, get all your friends and try to get some of them to find friends and so on, if you get that small nucleus you can grow from there but it's tough.

For sure, you could always give it a shot for a few months and see how it goes if you don't mind spending the money (you have to pay one of the service providers, there's no privately hosted HLL servers)
If you don't want to try to set up/host the server management software (RCON, there's a free community version) Battlemetrics has a paid version of that as well.
But you could pay for VIP to a server all year for yourself for what it would cost you to host a HLL server for a month, maybe less.
For instance for a 100 player server from Nitrado you're looking at about $90/month, you can get VIP on different community servers for anywhere from $5-10/month, it's going to depend on the community and how many servers they run and so forth.

From what I have seen. Any metric that other FPS games use to determine "skill" are totally pointless here. Or seemingly so. Those guys that go 75-0 running around with their smg would almost assuredly downvote HLL. Most weapons kill with one shot, you have nothing to tell you a grenade is nearby, hell even incoming arti is a guessing game on where it's gonna land. It's a blast.

As you play you will progress and rank-up in weapons and loadouts it’s the same for all new players. Jump into a community server and tell them you’re a NEW player many will help and guide you. You do need a headset and mic for communication. It can be tough to get into full servers, but if you find a server that has say 40-80 people on it (and it isn't the middle of the night) it will fill quickly
Otherwise you'll end up fighting the queue a bit if the server is full.

Such as only fighting over the mid point and preventing the use of armor and artillery but it depends on the server

Yes there are both official servers provided by the developers and privately run (community) servers that are paid for by the members, most servers pay for it by letting paying members skip the queue for a few bucks a month
Theres only a small number of companies allowed to host HLL servers so you have to pick from those, prices vary depending on options but i think they're all under $100 or so a month

If you're willing to rotate through support when the SL needs a box of supplies to build a garry you're doing better than 75% of the player base pretty much
Beyond that if you are in a cap zone and/or not actively attacking while your team is losing its points you're probably at the 95th percentile

They are expecting updates 12 and 13 across all platforms by end of 2022.
It is quite possible update 13 will be British forces, because in early summer devs reiterated their intention to release British forces also by end of 2022.

If you have ever seen camo netting you will be aware that it’s intended to either hide the equipment from the enemy or break up the lines of whatever it’s hiding. When your anti tank gun fires it’s no longer a priority to be hidden, heavy guns are not (typically) used with nets as they impede the function of the equipment
