I believe it took the devs around a year to set up the Russian maps, guns, sounds, troops, cosmetics, loadouts, vehicles, etc.

That was also during the time when they were still tweaking some of the fundamentals with Hell Let Loose though.

Max has recently said now that HLL is out of Early Access and the focus is on content, that same content should come out more quickly.

A safe guess would be anywhere from April 2022 - July 2022.

It's pretty common for European servers with a specified language to do this. Either join their communities or join servers which don't specify a language

Those are typically English language servers (because we just assume everyone speaks English 😉 ), and I've never seen those servers kick to make room for their community

I’m a GP member. This simply does not happen on the server, on their discord, or by any other means. GP members have a lot of game knowledge and leverage that knowledge into successful play. There are more active admins on Glow’s now than there has ever been before so poor behavior is at an all time low. Not only that, but as a content creator I asked the GP admins for admin cam access and the rules I have to follow are extremely strict and thorough with the possibility of me losing admin cam access or even expulsion from the community if I ever misuse it. The GP community would immediately punish any of this awful behavior if it ever did occur. Please disregard this person’s comment on the GP community and feel free to play on the server and to join our wonderful group of HLL players. Thank you.

If you'e killed 11 transport trucks with one dude in it, then you weren't very effective, but if you've killed 11 heavy tanks, you were.

If you killed 11 heavies, but died in 12 heavies, you probably weren't very effective, but if you didn't die then you were probably effective

There is a lot of contextual information to consider with stuff like this.

Like, I solo tank recon vehicles a lot. If I kill a heavy tank in a recon vehicle, then it is automatically a solid life. If I immediately died, I'd be pretty happy as my cooldown is way less than theirs, and my tank costs way less too. If I do that enough, eventually I might be able to limit their armour (though fuel is so abundant it's pretty hard to do that).

Pay close attention to footsteps and your hud for friendlies, I always crouch and ads to make as little noise as possible if I’m in a close quarters area even if I’m 0.0002% suspicious there might be someone nearby. Of course sometimes you can’t do anything about not getting the jump on someone, sometimes a ping issue as well if you both seem to fire at the same time

afaik crouch sprinting hasnt got a reduced speed yet so its optimal to just always crouch sprint unless u cant see

From my interpretation I doubt they would choose to be aware of it and not be trying to work out a fix, especially for them to respond by just saying they’re aware - would be counter intuitive if they weren’t. I can’t find any previous explanation by a dev on it, doesn’t mean it couldn’t be somewhere and I don’t know what it would have said either, but it has been a recurring topic for sure. But the solution for a lack of explanation isn’t encouraging everyone to make the game unplayable

new player, and loving the game, however can someone explain to me why I can ping all the aus servers at 15ms or less from cmd but when I open up the game my ping massively jumps to average around 50-60ms? I have all game ports required forwarded as well. Is it just because the servers/data pipe into them aren't powerful enough or is it the game engine not coping well with 100 players per server? FYI, yes I'm in AUS but it's not my pc or internet.

The main menu ping is your ping to the server. The ping in game is your ping to the physical server, but with all the traffic a 100 players and the game itself brings to the table. They're pushing their network system to the maximum. Basically, they're piping a lot of shit to you.

Besides. You're unlikely to notice much difference between 15ms and 60ms on this game. There's not much shot leading, you're not responding with twitch like reaction speeds.

I'm pretty confident up to like 150ms. I am fine up to 200ms.

To elaborate, as an SL you don't carry supplies - you just have to be near supplies that have already been placed in order to build a garrison. There will be a small symbol on the map as well as on your HUD when nearby

if walking around you run into the enemy and you both see each other at the same time, is it best to just start shooting or worth it to hold the right mouse button to aim and hold the gun steady? I've tried the latter and it seems that extra loss of time is getting me killed more often than not

Really depends on the gun. If you're using the Kar, you probably want to at least attempt to aim. If you're using an automatic gun, just start shooting and aim as you go

Had first game, was kind of overwhelming, was no one in the server when I joined so had to spawn as a squad leader, was hoping to just join a full squad as a lowly grunt and just get ordered around, five minutes later the server fills up and I'm having to try do the squad leader stuff when I barely know how to fire my gun lmao

Game/system then crashed on me which I'm pretty sure my squadmates were relieved about. That said from the brief time there I'm really hoping it takes off when it launches as there is nothing like it on console at all. The way the communication system is an absolute integral part of the game instead of just tacked on is fantastic.

I had to get over my fear of being the Officer. Once you learn how to stick down outposts and garrisons, you're more or less set. After that it boils down to 'tell command what you see and what you're doing with middle mouse button' and 'tell your squad what command tells you'

Do you ever think that a Campaign would be added? Also do you think that they will add any Air units? Like the ability to fly war planes? Obviously they would have to add Anti Aircraft guns but still

There is a campaign mode in the works, it’ll be similar to battlefield’s operations. A few maps strung together with some sort of running narrative. Flyable plans aren’t on the table currently, I wouldn’t expect to ever see them, although a deployable AA gun is coming. I think the running consensus is that it might be used as a counter to commander abilities, but no confirmation either way yet.

welcome, hope you enjoy. You can either a) join a game that's full and wait in queue (find one that doesn't have a full queue. usually the queue's move pretty quick). or b) find a server that has 20-60 people in, these will usually fill quickly at prime time

You can try restarting the game to see if it did save and it's just a visual bug.

Try playing on a large clan server. Some small servers will be new and won't have been whitelisted by the developers yet, and so won't let you gain XP. Large clan servers don't have this problem as they've been around a while.

almost certain NZ has no dedicated servers based in country, all of the oceania servers ive ever seen both in HLL and other games have been based in Aussie

but yeah speakin practically you wont have any trouble finding servers, im Kiwi myself and I can always find a good plenty of American, Euro or Aussie servers. Almost all will even have a queue.
Just dont join the CN China servers simply because the ping/lag becomes far more noticable and unplayable in servers that far out

oh yeah sweet, so both Tank Commander and officer have command voice chat enabled, this allows them to communicate with the overall commander and all other squad leaders or tank commanders in the game.
In other words both TC and Officer allow their respective squads to benefit from communication and map knowledge

for example

commander calls in that he can spawn another tank in middle hq. Tank commander relays this to his crew and they spawn mid hq, saving some time and waiting

or Commander tells the Officer that he's calling a bombing run on the officer and his squads position, so the officer lets his squad know and they move

these extra communications gives both the TC and Officer a leading edge over their crew or squadmates, in other words - allows them to act as positions of authority, calling the shots

Thats about as far as the similarities lie though as far as I know

I can sort of weigh in on Tank Commander

When you're tank commander its best to take spotter role since you can drop markers, it also allows you to communicate and lead your tank more, also when playing Tank Commander always have control of what your tank is doing, its easy to let your squad mates get control of what you're doing and where you're going because you're just not giving them enough orders to keep them occupied and they want action, although obviously not every squad is like this
