On PC you have to join the same server via server browser, but you should also be able to join into the same game as friends via steam.

No there is not. Your ammo counter on the hud only shows your total ammo divided by your mag capacity.
So it's not an accurate way of telling how much ammo you have left in your current mag or even total for that matter.

That being said, with enough experience you'll get a very good feeling for when your M1 garand or mp40 is running low in it's current mag

Getting kills is real easy in this game. Smg's profit immesnely from really small bursts per soldier you see. You can reload pretty much after each kill.

You're significantly overshooting if you're running out of ammo in a life. Chances of that happening are quite low unless you're abusing some position like a comp andy.

Move onto playing things like Support and AT. Medic isn't a particularly proactive role and isn't really that useful to the team. Hop on youtube, watch a couple guides produced no more than 2 years ago and then crack on with support, AT, and Engineer

Spawning on an OP is pretty much always better. The only time medics become useful are when you don't have good garrisons and OPs

Support helps with garrisons, ATs help stop the destruction of spawns. Generally better to be proactive than reactive

Don't main a single class. Just play the roles as needed.

If your squad needs rockets and no one goes AT, any tips people have given you are irrelevant when a tank is rolling through your team. Same with support, if you don't have one to build garrisons, you'll be spending a lot of time on the respawn screen waiting for good spawns or a long time running from HQ. There are no tips for improving those moments except not letting them happen.

As for assault. Just get lots of kills? Spawn, kill, push, die, repeat. Try to get their OPs with grenades. Once you get the satchel, satchel stuff. No different to any other role in this regard.

does angling tanks in this game work? sometimes it works and sometimes it doesnt, does it depend on which tank nation you use?

Only thing the angling does is increase your chance of a ricochet. In HLL, you either do damage or you ricochet. I think at about a 65(?) Degree angle it will ricochet, that's why the t34 is so good in this game

Idk it's something like 65 degrees maybe more. But if you're fighting another tank, if you angle your front armor enough it'll just show your side armor so it isn't really worth

Angling works, but it's not great.

If you angle with a 76 against a Tiger, and expose the side at all they can always pen.

The mechanic works so that if the shell level (light, medium, heavy) is higher than the armour level (thin, light, medium, heavy) you cannot ricochet. So back to the example, if the Tiger can see the 76 side armour then even if that side is at 1°, it cannot ricochet and must penetrate.

So when angling, make sure you're only showing the same armour level as the tank you're facing.

You're almost always better trying to kite the tank back and forth in and out of cover so you don't allow them the opportunity to get multiple penetration shots in. If they can only ever hit you once before you repair, they're never going to kill you

If it's a Pz4, it will be able to ricochet off the side but can pen the side (of a 76) if the angle isn't too steep

For sure. Information is key. You should approach most tanks from a position of cover, roll out parallel to that cover with the gun facing towards the opposition tanks known locations. This way you can roll back in safely

I always suggest rifleman or assault (or automatic rifle but not a much) since there aren't specific tasks expected of them. You get a basic load out at level one for the class and eventually level up the class and get more load outs.

Those 2-3 roles let you learn the game mechanics and maps without the pressure of extra responsibilities (ie antitank expected to take out tanks, medic to revive, support to drop supplies etc)

Basically, clans are communities of people who play Hell Let Loose but in a more organised fashion. They hop on regularly and play together, get to know each other and have a reliable team to play with. Periodically as well there are Clan vs Clan battles organised by the clans themselves

Also it's great for new people since they can learn a lot from the veterans at hand

Most people call it a walking simulator, crying about cheaters and everything but when you do it right, flank correctly, communicate and everything you can stay alive for 30 minuts easily and have 50 or 80+ kills.

It's a hard to learn game. Just saying. The maps, how to change directions all the time, leadership needs to be listened to etc etc. I think around 50+/- hours and you'll know the most do's and don'ts.

Hi, I've played a lil bit of HLL ( around 50 hours ) few years ago. It was a hate love relationship with the game, I loved the setting and gameplay but couldn't use mic a lot and got mixed experience, some got into "not polite" mode cos I said that I can't use mic a lot and I got kicked. 1. There are some servers called "new player friendly", but some of those don't really have a lot of new players. Tbh it's purely luck if you get well spread games in terms of skill on the teams. Try avoiding the servers that are owned by competetive clans, sometimes they'll have their own team on one side and all the randoms on the other. Either way there's usually lots of sweats.

2. You can always make your own group, that is if you have the time to manage all of that. But i'm not sure if the group would have to fit some criteria to be allowed into those competetive matches.

I've played around 10 hours and it was like a year ago and the reason I left the game was that I couldn't decide between maining engineer and sniper.Also the main reason was the fact that I was called mostly a noob on servers,and I was getting mad not because I was called so but because I couldn't improve myself. I only suggest maining sniper if you have a buddy or someone willing to spot for you, since you need a spotter to squad lead

Engineer is more readily available than sniper (only two snipers per team, versus every infantry squad can have an engineer. You can do arty. You can be a supply driver but that may be better on defensive mode as an engineer or as squad lead so you can have commander or other squad leads to direct you to where supplies are needed.

I mostly play medic for fun, but when i do there's some specific things i do differently than other classes.
Try to die last or at least not die first because then the whole point of being a medic is lost if you don't.
Talk to people, say that you can or you cant get them. Tell them that you can bandage for them and so on.
You've got 4 or 6 smokes depending on level and they're pretty useful, especially when attacking. There's a whole theory on how to use smokes, in short throw them at the enemy not close to yourself.
A lot of people will give up before you can even react so check who has been waiting for a couple seconds then go for those people

Agreed, about a year back I updated my GPU with Windows Updater instead of the GPU's website, automatically. Which led to that driver becoming corrupted because it didn't properly uninstall the previous driver and about a month afterwards or so that led to it slowly but surely corrupting all of my other drivers which eventually led to my PC corrupting my HDD after not being able to read it's designated key and I/O Virtualization which in return I had to do a clean install of Windows Drivers and Windows 10 and after I think about like 50 fails with SFC and DISM and repairing my hard drive as well as formatting it to a different format because for some reason it kept being read as a non-compatible NTFS driver even though I am operating a x64 bit system I finally repaired windows to a stable enough amount to be able to last long enough to install windows without getting a blue screen. I also had to disable CPPC and CPPC Protection in bios for stability as Windows was overflowing one of my six cores in my processor.

In short, don't be like me. Update your GPU manually and from the 'direct' website and definitely don't automatically update it with windows.

I really wish Linux had more support for Steam and Steam games.

Rather then just Dedicated Server hosting support.

• To prevent the server from being flooded with boxes
• To prevent players from blocking HQ roads using boxes
• (Possibly, although minor) to prevent XP farming.

The first two are the most logical reasons

if you use a mic, communicate and follow orders most players will gladly share advice and show you ropes and be friendly.
if you don't have a mic, take the SL role as a lvl 1 and don't respond you're going to earn some irk from players

I have a hard enough time getting into a server alone, anyone have any advice for joining as a group or is it just joining a less populated server?

i usually go for servers with a population in the eighties when i play solo and in a group it really just depends on size
