if you are playing on a community server, get into their discord server. Bring some kind of proof (like a video of them instantly finding your positions for spawns and stuff like that. The admins keep a log of kills also, sometimes they also have admins on admincam watching the game live, so if you're quick they can help catch them) after that you go and tell the admins to ban them. If you are succesful they'll be banned on the server you're playing on. If you keep playing on that server you'll no longer have that problem but yeah thats the solution basically. Official servers are unmoderated

I’ve watched a bit but I haven’t really got much from the videos I watched, I’ve pretty much just been going in as infantry and spawning an dying over and over 😂

I just don’t know what to do when it comes to supplies/building stuff etc

I don't know if you quite want to do that right away.

I've always recommended playing as assault or rifleman or automatic rifleman and get use to the game in terms of spawns, movements, pushing as offense, defending as defense, communicating, etc.

I’ve played mostly automatic rifleman I think, it just also seems nearly impossible to find servers to play on without having to wait 30+ minutes in a queue and once I do find a server all the squads are always locked, and it doesn’t seem like people communicate much at all unless I’m using the radio wrong which is very possible 😂

I don't know how to quite get to the voice chats in Playstation (I'm on PC), but there is a Command chat (officer/commander/lead roles, don't worry about this) which is red, Squad chat which is green, and proxmity chat which is blue.

I figured out how to bring up the wheel for the different channels but I barely ever hear anyone talking and if I do it’s not in English cuz servers are pretty hard to find😂

If you have other people you can build them in the HQ, but you need 150 supplies for all 3 kinds of nodes and only 50 can be dropped at a time by a support

depends what you're doing - as a new player I'd say that was good. Sticking with your squad and listening to your squad leader is invaluable - so many facets of this game are important. Always learning something new

I think this really hits the nail on the head tbh. The whole point of "playing the objective" is having the most amount of friendlies and least amount of enemies in the circle. In my experience shooting the enemy is the quickest way to get them out of an area. It absolutely is extremely valuable if somebody has an entrance point locked down, delaying or sometimes even completely stopping an advance. In the end though, straight up killing the enemies at the same spot won't secure anything other than time. Advancing, taking space and taking spawns is what let's you start winning an objective or defending it.

Exactly that. Having a few players who can drop a 100+ kills on your team when the opposition cannot massively imbalances things.

If those players then happen to take the space this provides then you can almost certainly take any given point.

It's why artillery and tanks work so well in this game. They're a natural counter to inf who can take the ground

and all of that requires support players and the general infrastructure of providing the rest of the team the ability to do that. I'd rather have a balanced team where most are capable of a decent amount of kills, than relying on one person - because if they're having an off day, or are absent then you're lost. I'd rather have the team trained that one super elite person. They are a bonus to a team, not the singular most important person. Seen way too many games go pear shaped because nobody really knows what they are doing. Effective SL's and Commanders (with mics) and squaddies who listen and follow orders are integral to that. Seeing newer players kicked from veteran squads due to not sticking with the squad when no orders are given is the opposite of efficiency (because that player may have become good, and yet becomes disheartened due to poor behaviour)

this is fair enough, however teams that are absurdly unmatched due to a blatant experience imbalance steamrollering tends to happen, and yes it may be an easy win, but it is not a learning experience for anyone - those high (s)kill players should ideally be balanced between teams, not all on one side. And has the tendency of pushing newer players away. So many facets make teams successful - those high killers are rendered ineffective if no-one is supporting them (and the rest of the team).

The issue is, you're saying that high-kill players need supporting players. Sure, everyone needs everyone else to play, but you can easily do all of the supporting tasks while also being able to get kills.

If we stop pretending that supporting tasks (like dropping supplies and building garrisons) are long and difficult tasks, maybe more will do it

Honestly I'm better at logistics than shooting, but that may be due to my lack of experience, or even ability (likely playing the wrong servers/with the wrong people, meaning that I end up doing that). Obviously have got better as time goes but am way off being comparable.

Well they aren't, however its difficult enough to get support players to drop their supplies at the start (for nodes). I guess I have too much experience with people who don't know what they're doing, when I'm not hugely experienced, and yet feels I'm having to baby them. Its good when partnered with a squad with talkative, helpful veteran players who like a laugh (aren't too serious).

Yeah, compared to CoD, this plays a lot different. Game flow is much slower, you need to move more deliberately and one shot usually kills you. Also, I assume that stuff like recoil is much more severe in HLL compared to CoD.

Only with a decent spoter that tells you where to go and make the range calculations, even a monkey could drive and shoot the SPA and be devastating with it. Map control problems affect every vehicle and artillery gun

The ultra basics for warfare are: each objective has 4 squares around it which provides cap weight. You need more cap weight than the opposition to defend/capture.

You achieve that by killing the enemy and being alive. You achieve that by having spawn points to use. As your average player, just follow the green dots about the map and help them. Just try not to stray too far from the objectives on the map

Mechanics in HLL are really simple, they're just not ever explained, so don't worry if it seems complex, because it really isn't

It takes significant time to adapt your eyes to seeing the movement and outlines of soldiers in this game. It's one of the most common pitfalls early on. People keep crying how they can't see where they're being shot from.
It's just a thing that takes time.
The positive is, it also creates an additional skill which is camoflauge. Knowing your soldier's uniform and how to blend in and cut your silhouette is an actual skill.
Good examples are the difficulty of spotting a german recon on maps like Hill 400 or Hurtgen Forest

It's going to depend on the group. Some are more competitive, some are more casual, some take new players and help them out.

You can read each post and reach out to them and ask questions. I personally don't play within a group, but I also don't mind solo-queuing and hopping into a game. I can't fully commit my time to an organized group if they are expecting me to be on X number of days in a month or whatever. I'm at 1000 hours.

Often times the commander will place artillery markers for artillery squads, and you can only see those as a squad leader ie) an artillery SL. So aiming there can guide your shots and develop your game sense for where players will be.

So I would say to still try to join a random artillery section or create one unless you really dont want to, in that case, find another server

If it's just dropping them off. Hop into an empty offensive server on defence and spam it out

There is a few, you've gotta use up 1 million supplies which will take you about 3-4k hours to do, to level from 150 to 500 will take about 5.6k hours since they made it harder to level up in 2021. But there is a few you can get but if you're not over level 300 it will easily take 6k+ hours to 100% the game.

That's at least pc side of things, i'm unsure about the xp and that for ps5 if there is a difference.

First to say, HLL is not a milsim, by far not, haha.
Aside from that, like Leadoff already said, plan your moves and don't rush in since one shot kills you. Scan your surroundings, try to memorise weapon sounds and - very important - use that mic to communicate with your team mates

so you guys haven't fixed the horrible server browser after how many years? is HLL vietnam using the same server browser system that is completely useless?

I mean that is just..........bravo on having such a bad server system that we literally downloaded the game to give it a try and gave up because we suddenly remembered why we left: joining a server took longer than playing the game.

I'm actually shocked after what, 3-4 years you genuinely couldn't just make the joining system better than SQUAD, which is like...........just absolutely amazing how bad yours is if Squad beats your queue system.

nevermind you guys didn't even fix the 4k resolution bug (game is literally on half my screen in windowed mode, it did this same stuff years ago and was a known bug).

Definitely waiting for a dev response on if HLL vietnam is using the same queueing system as the base game when it comes out. I'll be passing if so.

again the same bugs that were present in 2022 are in the game, to the point my screen was flickering nonstop at 4k resolution until I turned windowed fullscreen off. I could SEE THROUGH TERRAIN/HILLS, and I could also STILL NOT JOIN A 90/100 SERVER BECAUSE THE BROWSER IS STILL BROKEN AND WONT UPDATE CORRECTLY. I might sound salty but again prove me wrong and tell me how I'm so stupid because I'm calling out the devs for incompetence or lack of focus in the right departments.

I will absolutely make sure people know what they are getting into when they buy the new expansion/title if it's going to be the same half-a$$ed support this game provided. Simple cash grab pretty much.
