The 'windows' on a tank are usually a persicope/optic that are there specifically to not allow people outside of a tank to shoot people that are inside by using guns, and instead have a periscope that shows the outside world. Other times (Panzer IV + Tiger) it's a massive block of bulletproof glass to stop bullets going through.

That scene from Saving Private Ryan where they shoot through the driver's viewport of the Tiger to kill the crew doesn't happen irl because you got this massive block there instead

Hey, I don't believe Hell Let Loose on PC supports a 'party' system. You'll have to join a server and then your friend joins you, and then you can choose the same side, and the same squad.

Artillery is always in middle HQ, or near enough. Some newer maps have them a little offset. Just look at your map for the artillery location symbol.

If it's the offensive gamemode and you're attacking, you won't have artillery

I've recently made it to lvl 30 and played 2 games as it, but I wanna get better

Play other roles and be aware of their capabilities first.
Put some more time into Squad leading first. You cant be aware of what everyone can do and properly play commander until you are aware of everyones capabilities

Otherwise, garrys.

You want to build as many as possible without the enemy being aware of their locations as possible.
Dont put them on the objective, but surrounding it, resist using supplies drops all the time, all they do is broadcast to the enemy that you are putting a garrison there, any recon squad, tank commander, enemy commander, or enemy squad lead worth their salt will hunt it down or shell tf out of the location as soon as they see it.

Facilitate people building nodes and garrys. When you start to reach garry max [8] use half traks as extra spawns, dismantle garrys as needed

Again, people are going to ask for air drops all the time. Every time they do, open the map, look near them for a nearby support player, figure out what squad they are in and either via text or command chat see if support can drop their supplies first.

This goes for nodes too. Why drop supplies when you can call in/use a truck/support player instead.

Work with your squads, but dont hesitate to call a squad to ask them to do something. Coral your squad leaders, but dont bully them.
If you see a squad on defense, get in touch with them, see if you can get them any extra help. This is where a drop would be more warranted.

When it comes to abilities, you dont want to burn them out and waste supplies, have a valid use for them. ei, dont drop an airhead behind an enemy objective with no friendlies nearby, dont use bombing runs as killmonger streaks, accompany them with pushes and defenses.

Know who your active squad leads and tank commanders are. They can be valuable sources of intel.

Learn to read the map, open spaces next to your point probably have enemy in.

Learn to coordinate, squad moving in from different directions will split enemy fire and attention.

Make sure you dont waste commander abilities, a reconplace surveying outside the map is a waste.

bullet drop on standard rifleman rifles is pretty minimal. aim for upper chest (center of mass) and let loose. a hit will always incapacitate. trying to strafe and shoot is going to be a lot of luck, as is shooting without aiming with the sights. try to bunny hop when moving with a squad, move ahead of your guys while they cover you, take a knee, and then let them hop past you while you hold and cover them.

dont try to assualt a enemy position with a rifle, all by yourself. get nearby, dig in, and apply pressure to them with grenades and shoot them as they run.

This happens when the game doesn't shut down properly. If you want to prevent it from resetting everything even if the game closes properly, you can locate your GameUserSettings.ini file and set it to read-only. However, any changes you make to your settings after that will not be saved.

weird voip bugs, vivox (the system for voip) has been bugged for a while, in audio settings you can disconnect then reconnect voip and it usually fixes it. Sometimes you can just straight up get bad servers where ppl dont talk anyway :/ just gotta find some regulars

You can move it. You're just not in the periscope view in that case.

I'm not a PC player, but on the tank keybinds there should be one for zooming in. Press that and you'll enter periscope.

There's a bug on PC to my knowledge where you literally can't move the periscope no matter what zoom option you are using

I'm going to throw a blind guess and say that getting out of the tank and re-entering might fix it. There's a bug (on console at least) where the tank can get stuck in the reverse gear and won't change, and hopping out then re-entering the tank fixes it. Perhaps that might also fix it for PC

Other than that, check your settings to see what you have assigned to looking around with the periscope

Thanks for the responce. This was the first thing most people said to me when asking about it in game. i am zooming in to look around but no matter my zoom level it still would not move. i did manage to get it working tho. i only just started playing the game and i installed it last weekend so i had made no changes to controls. once i hit reset to default on controls however it started working. again not sure why this worked as i have not changed ANYTHING in the controls section but it works now and i can spot for a tank.

We recently won the biggest HLL tournament. We have a big community side as well as, obviously, a good comp team.

A) we wouldn't want to uniformly disable all clickable invites as there may be some that aren't promoting a specific gaming community, etc., like tools, competitions, websites,
B) I don't feel like asking to DM an invite is an inappropriate request, but that's just me, I'm sure it's understandable that a group might feel "excluded" or "under-represented" if someone's link is shared over theirs, again, there are appropriate channels for these for a reason

I know that for all semi autos rifles (including semi auto snipers) it's 200m

For M1 carbine it's 50m, and iirc 100m for STG44

Um... so depending on game mode there are 2 game modes warfare and offensive, -- ( Warfare ) -- once you cap a point you move onto the next one, -- (Offensive ) -- One you cap a point you move on and don't defend the point and you loose a point you can't get that point back.

I suggest go watch Soulsniper on YouTube he has a bunch of Tutorials on game modes n roles

I'm getting set-up on the PS5 and the movement feels sorta like drifting on ice in standard games - it's super sluggish and unresponsive. I've gotten aiming to feel reasonable, but movement won't get better. Is there a good setting I'm missing somewhere or is this just how it is for console?

Support can supply enough supplies for Officer to build a garrison? I just played as the squad lead for the first time tonight, I wish I would've known that before and I would have made one of my friends play support. I was constantly waiting for commander to air drop supplies.

Air dropping supplies is the worst possible way to build garrisons and needs to be phased out as a technique sls are using.
Support players carry 50, in blue areas its 50, in red its 100, however you can always get a support player from another squad to also drop in the red, or you can have one of your squad support switch with the current support player to get 100.

As SL its very important you understand the different ways supplies work and how to use them.

Yep, known as support swapping. Put op down, support player drops supplies, redeploys, and switches roles with someone else. They drop, and can then redeploy or keep the role depending on what you have planned

Couple of other important things to know about garrys/supplies

• All supplies have a 50m build range at any time. It doesnt have to be dropped immediately next to where you are building
• Garrys light up with enemys within 50m, and lock with people within 15m. This can be used in cooperation with next fact to detect where the enemy is coming from
• ~~never E V E R~~Rarely put spawnpoints directly on strongholds unless its a last ditch desperate effort, instead, surround the objective with garrisons, halftraks, or airheads. Use the MMB ping to see how far out you are, typically 3 or so on middle objectives 200m out allows plenty of varying spawns and works with the previous fact to tell you where the enemy is coming from.

• Don't forget there are multiple forms of supplies, they all work exactly the same with varying degrees of visibility to the enemy, amounts, and feasibility getting to the lines. They would be Support players, Supply trucks, and Airdrops.
  Airdrops being the worst possible way as even just one competent player on the enemy team can spot it and relay its location to the command chat. Its like putting a flare up broadcasting "Hey garry here, shell this position with everything you have"

You can use them, but keeping the cooldown on it going either means you are using it as a base building option, the team is blind, or you are wasting it.

Your information on garrisons lighting up and locking is totally wrong.

Blue garrisons light up within 50m and lock within 5m.

Red garrisons never light up. They lock within 100m

Your information on never putting garrison on the strong point is also wrong. There are plenty of reasons to have a strong point garrison. It's only the terribleness of pub players that make it seem worse than it really is

Tanks, bombing runs, strafe runs, recon planes, and literally all other explosives in the game disagree with that. All things that dont even have to be directly targeted at it to push the team out of the stronghold
And the simple fact that all the enemy needs then is one person on objective to lock out your entire team.

The ranges for garrys always have conflicting info so feel free to test that and show it, not against being corrected.
