if its a shell from a tank you can hear like a "whoosh" sounds from the direction but if its a infantry just try to think where they could be and listen for the pop of the gun, but all that comes from experience so dont stress it you will get the hang of it

well EAC does a large scan from what i know so if you have cheats for other games or dirvers for cheats that got detected you will get banned when you try launching HLL

1. you are far away from any spawns and you manage to revive SL who wants to build a spawn
2. people die right top on you in a way where they are in complete cover
   Otherwise it's a waste of time for everybody involved unfortunately, spawning is easy and free

malware doesnt count, since malware is attacing your computer not tampering with the games memory so there is no reason for EAC to flag it but what could have happened is that somebody stole your account cheated on it and you got flagged

I played three matches this morning without any issues, but when I attempted to play the fourth match, I suddenly found my account banned. The reason behind the ban is unclear to me.

i engaged with it twice, found it easy to hit tanks through very tight spots like between buildings at long range with every round in the mag. the first time i hit the rear and there was visible damage after two mags, second time i hit the side and turret with a full mag but no visible damage

Armored cars, trucks and halftracks take damage from wherever, Luchs take damage from the side, everything else only from the rear. And dont listen to Abu, the PTRS-41 is great, the proper usage just requires your team to build enough garris

If you think the PTRS is bad because it takes ten times as long to kill a vehicle all while needing to be mounted you clearly have a skill issue and just work together with your team lmao how obvious!

It has a few perks going for it that other AT weapons cant do. Like being able to kill a heavy without supplies or more rockets, even at hundreds of meters away. Always being able to track enemy tanks without wasting ammo. And some other minor things.

Tbf, at least you can kill 2 heavies in a single life with the PTRS whereas you can only take out the engine and knock out 90% of the health of a heavy using rockets in a single life (assuming no resupply)

As we all know, it's K/D that only matter in HLL

If your crew get solod by a PTRS in a heavy you're most certainly doing something very wrong. As in, you're not responding to it at all.

The main power of the PTRS lies in it's consistency. It's consistently mediocre. If you're any decent with a bazooka there's very little reason to use a PTRS, unless you're sniping recon vehicles from a distance.

As I said before, it needs garris to work. If you only got one, the enemy tank is likely pointing directly at it. But if you got several to choose from, especially on Kursk, the enemy tanks can be hit with the PTRS from any side. It's a teamwork weapon, really. Simple enough to surround enemy tanks on all sides with it, if people just put in some effort.

And why do you need a PTRS for that?

You can definitely make it work. But this really isn't any more efficient than other means of AT.

Because getting supplies by yourself is wonky and limited, and bazookas cant reliably hit targets at +200m ranges (Also I wont render to the tank past 500m but I can still hit it)

That is assuming you manage to set up two or three ATs with a PTRS around a tank, each of which can shoot the tank uninterrupted for like half a minute, with the tank not rolling out of sight.

At that point might as well try to move a tad bit closer and use a bazooka. You don't need to be point blank to hit. With a bit of practice, hitting a stationary target at longer distance really isn't so difficult either.

Another big problem is that, while sure, the PTRS is quite reliable even at longer distances, moreso than a Bazooka, you're nowhere near as effective up close.

Thats what I do, I just learned by using the chart like I said, if it wasnt dead on with the increment Ide estimate the mils between the 2 points I had to work with and just let friendly troops know if it was danger close, I love playing Arty when Im waiting for a tank or something

It's like most people who go down and see a medic nearby, expect to be revived, if they don't, they get pissed off. They have to accept the fact they can't always be revived. Especially on where they went down. Get shot in an open field, "Why didn't you revive me stupid medic?"

Focus on keeping defensive garrison network alive and kicking.

Don’t offer too many attacking spawns until your defence network is solid, otherwise everyone runs into red zone.

It’s mostly garrison building and logistics with some fancy abilities and a touch of strategy.

I try to get volunteers instead of delegating. Only the SL’s know how responsive their squad is and you need that on defence.

In essence;

1. Put a marker down on the map and line it up with your gun
2. Take the distance to the marker and paste it in some HLL Arty Calculator app
3. Use the resulting value to adjust your elevation
4. Spam shells until you stop getting kills

But really; Look up a video on Youtube. There's a few nuances that I didn't include above.

Arty calcs don’t make a whole lot of sense considering the random deviation of the shells unless you really want to try controlling that, too. In which case, other squads should be giving you that information anyway so you know where your shells are going/if they’re effective

Never used arty calcs and I have no trouble raking teams - especially if squads give me markers - and avoiding TKs

Not a lot of nuance, you just need to know reference points between mils for more precise distances, which you’ll feel out in like 10 minutes anyway

Just comes down to understanding how garrisons work really. Combine that with the general layout of the map and after the first Garrison is put down or found, you can pretty easily judge where the rest is supposed to be placed.

Hello, I am new to HLL I was trying to find articles on the cross-play feature and how far it has come over the years. I saw an article in 2021 that said crossplay is only between new gen consoles like Xbox and Ps5. I thought I saw a different article from 2022 that said Xbox and PC could cross-play. Does anyone know if the cross-play now incorporates ps5, Xbox and PC players now. I have 2 friends and we are all on different platforms and I want to know before I convince them to purchase this game.

Hell Let Loose simply because its more active and straight to the fight. not that squad 44 isnt good which is the one i played but i hear its actually easier than normal squad. hell let loose is just funner seeming to me because you get to focus on the fight more than micro managing simple stuff like drinking water before you sprint which is very time consuming and inconvenient considering the large battlefield size and how long it takes to cover distance. so thats my main complaint but also another biggie for squad 44 is i havent found a way to get the fov below 90 so im thinkin ur stuck with barely being able to see the enemy bcux the end of the gun even is super skinny and everything gets small to quick so its a hassle and ull need a big screen to counter that... anyways hll is def hardcore and ull die alot but its way funner and if u wanna take a break and get alota kills or rlly help ur team out with counter tanking then go for a tank and gun for em. tanking is so fun in this game.

i like squad 44s lives point system and the idea in general but if i cant see stuff its just to frustrating. i run on med with some high settings and i use the focus aim so unless idk somthing can be tweaked then its jus to much to mess with for me so that was my opinion of why hll is funner, simply hll is alota work as it is. but squad is a bit more than i personally have time to focus super hard on to play. anyways thats just my opinion. i play squad still alil bcuz im tryna get some one to show me how to see the enemy and get kills easier rather than havin to literally sneak up on em every time and end up dieing anyways. otherwise i could easily get over the water drinking thing bcuz i manage it no prob its just im alil impatient when i wanna get to the action.

I just got Hell Let Loose the other day after owning Squad for a few years.

It really depends on what part of the game you like most. Squad is slower paced and typically tends to have more communication (especially after the ICO update), while HLL seems to be a somewhat simpler version that's faster paced. They're both great games; just depends on what you're looking for.

For example, I played a Squad match yesterday where we spent the first half hour driving around in a truck, defending objective points (while the other squads attacked), and building spawn points before we actually saw any combat. I'm guessing that process would take about 5 minutes in a HLL game, and would have involved more action. I've enjoyed both games though and have had fun switching between them throughout play sessions.

Yes, that's how my first day was I'm like a week in. Kills shouldn't be your main focus, supporting your squad/team through whichever role you pick should be your main focus (unless you're rifleman than kill away). But learn the difference between the two different game modes and how to read your tacmap and that'll put you in the right direction. Also learn about your support and engineering classes and that'll help give you a better understanding of the bigger picture

I had that issue when i rebuilt my pc. Turned it my audio input settings reset on my headset, the input volume for my mic was on like 25%, i turned it up and that fixed the issue for me. But it might be something completely different. HLL voice chat can bug out a lot, you can try to reinstall and see if that fixes it. You've probably already tried to disconnect and reconnect in HLL audio settings I assume?

I had that same problem on PC. I just bought the game recently too. I tried every solution I could find on the internet and nothing worked. It turned out that for some reason the game really didnt play well with router. I ended up buying a new router because it was time for an upgrade anyway. Try connecting your xbox directly to your modem with an ethernet cable if you can and see if you still have issues. If not, then you know its probably the same problem I had. The router it wouldnt work with was a Netgear R6220.

So the VOIP (voice over Internet protocol) which allows you to talk during the game has notoriously been an issue since day 1. Just make sure your microphone settings are good in Xbox and that you hold the LB but choose the correct color, blue for proximity, green for unit and white for party. Then when you want to talk tap the LB to when you wanna talk

You can turn off access at the server level (if the hosting provider is exposing the right file), windows store players will never see those servers (at least they shouldn't) to even try to join.

Other servers (because not all hosting providers have exposed the right file) can check when a player connects and automatically remove them because the player IDs are formatted differently so you can tell who is steam and who isn't.

If you're a game pass player and you want to keep playing HLL I'd recommend you just buy it on steam, some servers might never turn on your access if you're a windows store player because your account won't work with any of the steam API integrations some people use, so you're getting a hobbled version.

If you're in a squad that's not communicating, best way is to jump to another squad until you find people cooperating. That being said, sometimes you just don't have any in your team with open slots (as others also try join the good squads). In that case, if you don't want to try another server, it might be best to just start your own squad as squad lead. Then you can at least build an outpost for yourself and others joining your squad. If you're doing that as a squad lead and communicating with your squad, then you're already a better squad lead than any of the squads you were trying to join earlier. And if you're getting squad mates who are not communicating or at least working together with you based on what you're communicating to them, just kick them to make room in the squad for people who want to cooperate.

While the general recommendation is to not take the SL role when new to the game, it doesn't apply when you don't have a squad to join that would have an experienced SL.

Correct, servers have the ability to restrict gamepass users from joining. There are issues with gamepass users being able to join servers across the board though, so it could be a combination thereof. Your best bet is to turn off crossplay in the options menu in the meantime.

This crossplay is pretty new and an attempt to repopulate a lot of servers, so there’s bound to be some bugs during the first weeks.

Generally I recommend joining servers with between 60-80 players, as they’re usually newer matches that give you an hour of playtime.

Unfortunately you don't. Something is going on with the influx of gamepass players that something isn't working right. I have the same issue being a game pass player. Only thing we can do is wait for a fix and thay is if you don't lose interest by the time a fix is out.

They released to gamepass with clearly no testing and it's totally royally screwed. I paid for the game on Xbox, not even through the gamepass and essentially was robbed of $35

new player here: does the game put all new players into the same lobby? I play for 2-3 days now and in the vast majority of my matches am the highest level player on the server by now with lvl 15ish...and the game really feels like nothing as promised: zero coms, zero teamplay, people never waitinging to get revived but respawning instantly even though a medic (me) is right behind them, people not running together as a squad, people driviing off alone in a truck instead of transporting some troops to the frontline etc...

I come from Squad/ Arma and wonder what the heck is going on....

...and not having a server browser on console to find a proper community doesn't make things easier either.

Right now I'm basically "server hopping" instead of playing to find servers where there are commanders, officers and people a few people using voice and cooperation

Game doesn’t have server browser, if you’re playing with people with out a mic then that’s that tbh, best way to actually enjoy the game to join in with a unit, all units are accepting recruits

The game isn’t as promised right now due to the massive influx of new faces who just don’t know the game, and may not have the intention to learn.

On console new players are not put into the same lobby. It’s just such a massive influx they are filling lobbies by themselves, and many of the more experienced players have a friends list they can use to find each other. Or are taking a break until the newbie influx calms down.

I just joined from game pass. Learning but sounds like the issues I’m seeing are because of the GP influx. Zero voice comms. No squad strategy. Thought I was doing something wrong. Pretty great game otherwise

If you’re new go and look at the Basic Training manual in the game menu. It tells you a lot of what you need to know, honestly they should have made that section mandatory for the gamepass people
