Also 10 kills isn't bad. 😅 I've had games with 10 or less (even a command game win with 0 kills)

kills arent everything either. destroying garrisons, nodes, vehicles, scouting, taking out arty, placing garrison and outposts, building defences etc etc are all just as equally important

How do Units in the community put on Events ? Are there server commands that facilitate this ? Extending map timers, removal of Role availability, spawning assets like tanks, vehicles, etc ? Essentially, are there ways to turn a server into a Sandbox ?

Hey guys, im kinda new in HLL. I feel like most of the times the game isnt friendly welcome. Theres lots of rules in lots of server that just dont make sense. Most of the time platoons are locked and when you create your own you might get a penalty because you have to be X lvl in order to be an officer and since you cant join squads neither create them you cant really level up. I had joined several servers and sometimes rook players like me complains about the same in game chat, its really frustrating.

And also, when you do something wrong you are likely get yelled about what are you doing instead of giving advise or correction. It is a really harsh environment and sometimes it makes me want to stop playing. I do enjoy playing as arty and ive been trained by some experienced friends and i even use calculator. I think I do a great job since most of my shells goes to the point designed but i mostly get yelled just because im a low lvl player

I am sorry you had a rough beginning to the game. It's a steep learning curve and has lots of nuisances.

To explain a few things:

1. There are "New Players Welcome" servers which may work best for you to learn roles.
2. Community servers are allowed to have their own rules, such as level requirements (ie officer had to be account level 30 or higher). They have a rule like that due to the need to understand the role and the game. Officers are communicating with their squad, but also with every other squad lead and commander. It's a balance of coordinating with others while also coordinating your own squad.

It can be an overwhelming role (your own squad calling stuff together, command is needing you to build a garrison while 3 other squads communicate a tank location)

3. As for the "what are you doing" yelling, it could be more out of confusion versus anger at you like you did something wrong. Say your squad lead says we are defending Cattle shed point, but you are at AA Network. They would be saying it as in "hey we said we defend, why you being offensive? Come back"

Hypothetical situation since I don't know when you experienced it.

Arty can be very useful, but can also be damaging for a push. Don't try to play only as Arty. Try joining a squad and explain you are newer and just need some guidance. Mic communication is big!
