It takes a while to actually orchestrate an invasion and stockpile the required logistics in forward staging areas. The British Expeditionary Force was about 10 devisions while france hadnt yet fully mobilised even by the time Germany did invade in 1940
Also as mentioned, niether the UK nor France actually had the stomach to fight a full scale war and there was a lot of discussion behind the scenes, especially in the UK, as to whether to even join the war in the first place and either be non interventionist or friendly towards Germany because of the threat from the USSR.
Need to bare in mind the whole Nazi thing didnt have the same connotations in 1940 as it did in 1945 and post war. There were big fascist movements in all allied nations until the early to mid 40. There is a reason a lot of french were contented with Nazi occupation…

Could depend on what they are doing. Taking out tanks and garrisons are big points for combat.
I killed 1 person in a (loss) warfare on Stalingrad (not new) and had like a couple hundred combat scores and took out 4 garrisons (my sniper took out 6, also high combat scores)
