Hi @fluid pawn, I would like to ask - when can we expect more details about when the PTE will start & end on Friday? Knowing at least a day or two in advance is always beneficial... some peeps need to make plans.

Yes, so it was as Schutzmannschaft who fought with partisans, so why it was not regular forces. And their combat was really different to combat between armies.
Both of them would have small equipment, neither tanks or planes. And their area for fighting would be swamps, forests, fields.
French resistance would work with regular Wehrmacht.

Partisans, French resistance, Polish resistance or Army Krajowá were fighting in WW2. For them would work guerrilla warfare gamemode. It was unconventional warfare, cause partisans and resistance could not be combatants ever.

It isnt. Player numbers are low, and there is almost no change in sight. Players dont play the game like it is intended, and we are missing a highlight that would bring veterans back. Only a reworked map wont help it. The whole game has to be reworked

Definitely an interesting dev brief. Excited to see heavy tanks finally be limited on the respawn times but I honestly think it needs to cap at one a team just because of how strong they are
And the tinkerer is pretty overkill imo. With making all the tanks function as the actual tanks they are IRL there’s really no need to modify them. Like it’s a cool idea but I think that should be left in the ideas folder for a later time
The first major element of this rework is a comprehensive overhaul of tank balancing. To enhance immersion, gameplay variety, and strategic decision-making, every tank in Update 18 has undergone an individual stat rework and balance pass. Our aims with these changes are to:
-Emphasise the unique performance characteristics of each tank.
-Encourage strategic diversity and highlight faction-based asymmetry, reflecting the nature of real-world historical warfare.
-Reinforce the role of tanks as powerful, game-changing tools suited to a wide range of battlefield scenarios.
-Improve the viability of Medium and Light Tanks, increasing their relevance and usage during matches. This change will complement the upcoming Heavy Tank Limitations, which we will cover later in this brief.
The aim of these changes is to create a clearer, more strategic comparison between tanks by emphasising their unique strengths and weaknesses. This system encourages players to consider a tank’s specific combat role and capabilities, promoting more varied and tactical gameplay.
By breaking down stats for example into three distinct, adjustable stat groups, we can better balance the tanks and provide players with meaningful choices based on their preferred playstyle and battlefield needs.
One of these stat groups focuses on a tank’s offensive capabilities. Each tank will now have specific stats assigned to its weapons, including muzzle velocity, shell drop-off distance, reload time, damage output for both armor-piercing (AP) and high-explosive (HE) shells, turret speed, depression and elevation angles, and the power of its coaxial machine guns.
So, in theory, this sounds very good.
Other than that the update looks good. I’m absolutely dreading the SPG’s though
I like the limitations on heavies too. But remember, the Panther was made a heavy tank when in reality it wasnt, and it was quite common on all Western front maps. It isnt the Tiger. Will it will be a medium again?
Mobility Upgrade
With this upgrade, you will remove the heavy loads or armour to improve mobility. This will increase acceleration and faster turning speed, however in turn the tank will have decreased deceleration along with reduced armour and health.
Turret Tuning
Tuning the electronics or hydraulic systems will allow for faster turret movement including rotation speed and damage. By enacting this Tinker however you will trade speed for slower reload times and potential jamming, as the increased speed is temporary.
Armour Bracing
If you are under heavy fire, you may feel that applying additional armour or reinforcing existing armour plating will be your best move. - we place down a box

I think the biggest problem with AT isnt the fact they can kill tanks effectively, its just they can keep throwing themselves endlessly at a tank to kill them, counterplay as a tank crew isnt getting you far because the AT will just respawn and keep spamming their rockets

Tanks are meant to mop up infantry. Especially with how long the cooldowns are on heavy. They primarily nuke infy. Obviously if a tank is up you kill it but sitting a campy choke point and mowing down infy is what tanks do.

The prevailing “the game is supposed to suck” shared between a not insignificant portion of this games playerbase has always been weird.
It’s just… gah it’s just so satisfying seeing comp players get their comeuppance. They kept yelling “go play S44 or Arma” for years because BM decided to be lazy and not update their game past alpha, and now that we’re actually getting more immersive mechanics to help bridge the gap between realism and gameplay.

I've been tanking for 4yrs on this game and never once had any complaints about it except terain and hitbox issues

Comp is relying too much on metas and glitches which makes sense but is not what the game is intended to be
Eh the gameplay is good It's that the game explains nothing to you. The little took tips are a joke. There's certain things you learn overtime that the game literally doesn't tell you. Like at can 1 shot a medium with 2 rockets to the rear. Or satchels explode in a radius even upwards etc. Gary placement. Red vs blue. Where to put OPs etc. Don't cross an open field even if it looks free

Why would the devs not cater more to the comp community keeping the game and servers alive? Comp players spend the most time and money in the game. Casual players come and go. Maybe play a game here and there and don’t even play the game right. When was the last time u saw a casual place a Garry down.

Its just cringe, thats why I dont play comp anymore. Either adapt and play the game how it was intended, or leave. But sadly, comp is the only one that still communicates. I wish we got 2021 HLL back when communication was still the rule in pub matches

No. These people just want to be able to mod or play on community-built/modified maps. After that, nobody really cares what the devs cough up after the fifth outfit or from the half-finished roadmap (interestingly, as far as the roadmap goes, they’re actually doing pretty well this year, which couldn’t really be said before).

Comp players? If they want to make custom servers then ask for that, not bash and put down every idea that dares to change the outdated and limiting game mechanics
I think we should remove OPs and Garrisons and force people to walk across the entire map after dying

the faction asymmetry has worked out good so far. Firefly having horrible maneuverability and no hull gun, soviet not having a rocket when new to the game. all that good, balanced stuff.

Going to state it again, in a vaccum this isn’t a good update. For it to be a worthwhile update AT and resupply systems need to be updated as well to balance the new tank changes.
Also scrap the “tinkerer” idea immediately. It’s just bad as it will become the meta loadout and is Argueably more important then the tank commander

It's crazy that all they needed to do to fix tanks was fix traversal issues and make armor values and make guns armor penetration realistic.
