Battlefield hardcore mode is literally 1 shot 1 kill with bolt actions. Just slightly make the movements slower and bam, HLL
or that... but then we would need to think about it, how the boxes would be deployed - the system. Because then if everybody just deployed the ammo boxes on the ground, that would be all. And with the cooldowns of the boxes, they are relatively unlimited.

Yeah, and I suppose the playerbase is older and more communicative. I just wish that the maps werent so big. S44 with HLL map size would be so much better. That's another thing I forgot to mention, in S44 you cant even tell if someone is capturing the point, and in urban environments there's even more corridors to look out for than in HLL. It's supposed to be a realistic WW2 game but it becomes this odd tag of running around and trying to find the enemy in some attic

I just think that tactical games approaching realism should hardly ever be won or affected by single soldiers holding a corner or such. Entire units can surrender at once, singular lost soldiers would surrender even more. Rather it should be about the coordination of firepower, movement and all the tools you have, instead of the current "1 man captures entire point and forces a simulated division to fall back"
They’re a pretty tacked on feature at this point. Resources were originally to nodes but got swapped to the things we have in game

in this regard HLL is a much better milsim than S44, because you actually CAN hold the entire width of the map, at least on open maps, and heavily affect the other side of the map even 1,000 meters away with AT guns and such

The biggest problem with these team based games is NOT the game mechanics, it's the changing playerbase.
Simulating how units were deployed in WW2, and why. All other things being equal, it's just so much more effective to go wide, for the same reasons as in real life. Even in a virtual environment you cannot escape 3d realities of getting shot from the side or behind
We All tried it and people just Tell you to F off.
And at some Point some Players join a Clan because they want to play with people that know how to play
Then keep trying it. Also here on the Discord, check #new-recruit-barracks and offer every new player a personal guide, explanation and tutorial.

I recall that the flares originally had similar brightness in their first PTE, they would even draw clear shadows through hedges on walls 200 meters away from the flare. Upon release they were tuned down, it didn't look quite good in that PTE

we MG players will have to re-learn all we know about the MG positions because there are new ones and many old ones won't work anymore
- no more being able to deploy bipod as prone on some asset and have our body flying in the air at the same time - possible but we can't look left/right anymore

also, not possible to deploy MGs on the snowed roofs or snowed surfaces - needs to be fixed
and we need to be able to deploy them on the vehicle wreckages of previously controlalble vehicles too
and on the big supply boxes from the trucks

And yeah, my conclusion was that not much was changed

Yeah, because optimisation is still bad (improving, tho) and fora 2018 game, the hardware demands are very high, especially in regards to RAM and CPU (not so much GPU, contrary to what many people believe)

I don't think playtests have ever been that populated

some have two full servers, some have only a couple of guys
a few years ago, people were hyped about PTEs, with whole communities joining their discord VC and someone streaming it even.
People are less interested in just testing out smaller stuff. New Map will get a slight bit of an interest. New weapons that are available for multiple classes will get more attention.
One shocker that I was surprised on is the actual official support for DX12. I'll admit I was wrong I thought it required a engine upgrade to 4.27 for that but obviously not. This will give folks those extra FPS they crave. I'm thinking though as mentioned there will be an option to return to DX11 so folks that are crashing or having issues now with the setting will most likely still have that issue even though it will now be supported. 😉

Generally, people who are part of the clan of the community server have the VIP access, or you unlock a set amount of days by seeding a server.
You can find seeding advertised in #console-seeding-help for console.

My Thoughts on the Bipod System in the PTE:
If this update makes it into the main game, it will make machine gunners absolutely useless. In competitive Hell Let Loose, MGs rely heavily on the ability to rotate while mounted on rooftops, chimneys, and other strategic positions. Removing this functionality effectively destroys the tactical value of the MG class. Please reconsider this change — it removes any meaningful reason to include an MG in a squad. If it goes live, dedicated MG players will likely disappear from HLL competitive play.
Another issue is the new mounting mechanic: you now have to look slightly downward to deploy the bipod. Previously, you could mount while looking straight ahead, which was far more intuitive. While this isn’t as game-breaking as the rotation issue, it still feels like an unnecessary downgrade in usability.

No, you're completely stuck when it comes to rotation on chimneys, rooftops, and similar positions even on some Fences — this is not an upgrade, it's an absolute downgrade. On spots where I previously had around 180 degrees of rotation, I now have barely 5 degrees.

The New Update Is a Step Back for Competitive Players
As a long-time competitive player, I have to say this update feels like a slap in the face for everyone who takes the game seriously.
Medic Class:
While it’s great to see new abilities like improved revival notifications, the XP and points system is way over-tuned — it hands out far too many rewards for minimal effort. But that’s not even the real issue.
The core problem with the Medic remains untouched: AMMO.
Medics are still severely limited by their ammunition count, making them nearly useless on the battlefield. This has been the main complaint from the community for a long time — not abilities, not XP, but AMMO. Without enough bullets, the Medic can’t stay in the fight and ends up being ignored by players who want to make progress or contribute meaningfully.
MG Class:
Please don’t do this. For casual players, the changes might not seem drastic. But for competitive players, this update fundamentally changes everything. The MG is now the new “old Medic” — overburdened, ineffective, and frustrating to use. It has gone from a powerful support role to a liability in competitive settings.
In conclusion:
This update might look good on paper, but it completely misses the mark for the competitive community. Ignoring long-standing balance issues while introducing changes that break core class dynamics is not the way forward. Please listen to the players who spend the most time mastering your game.

Medics aren’t meant to kill. They’re meant to heal and revive. If you see an enemy as a medic then let your squad know to take them out and don’t focus on killing. Each bullet you spend is a bandage or life wasted on the battlefield
The games already been dead for years. Comp is the last dying breath of tryhards and sweats who don’t want to see meaningful changes made to the game and want it to stay in an unfinished state
if you think about it:
you run to the position where your mate got shot. Sounds stupid right? but this is the class you are requesting
the only reason for a medic is if he can refrag and revive. and because of that you need a medic with a weapon
Once again, if there is an enemy that shot a friendly and your trying to get to that downed friendly, ask another solider to lay down suppressing fire to pin that enemy down

I used to be a comp MG, always on the tops. I know what I am talking about too. Despite I don't do comp anymore, I have plenty of comp matches as MG behind me. And regardless comp, I can say one thing: the current MG deployment has been extremely limiting, and unrealistic at the same time.

These so called comp players are afraid only of 1 thing - that their old (and unrealistic bipodded) spots are not going to work anymore. They don't care that the game is getting more realistic and logical, they just want their favourite spots to keep working.

I believe the focus should first be on fixing truly important issues in the game — like the hacked “HEAT MAP” plugin or ongoing performance problems. Or simply listening to the community and giving the Medic 2–3 extra magazines, instead of constantly changing core gameplay mechanics!

I already said why there is no problem, but here are the things:
- the new MG bipodding system allows us to bipod everywhere on any geometry and not just on the manually designed spots by the devs.
- when aiming high, our character takes cover pretty much, making us a harder target and** a way to hide without un-bipodding**
- when there is a room around the bippoded asset, we are able to make even 370 degrees big angles now, not possible with the old system
- it is possible to deploy bipod the way one would expect even when standing on the roof - in old system we are forced to look into the skies or into the ground, making the deployment spot useless
Just make secondaries useful and make them oneshot at 15 meters or less

For pistols: Typically 2 to 3 magazines, sometimes more depending on the situation and personal equipment.
For a carbine: A small supply of clips (stripper clips), usually around 30–60 rounds — that’s approximately 6 to 12 clips with 5 rounds each. 😄 2nd ww german medic ^^

I wouldn't mind medics having 2-3 more magazines depending the faction/weapon. But they need to keep the weapons they have now and not get any new. I wouldn't consider it a medic overhaul at all though - won't make anybody to wait for the medic at all which is the main problem.

For instance, in PS (SQ44) when we used to prepare for historical scenario custom events, we prepared buildables (bunkers, minefields etc.) even a day before the event so it was standing by at the ready.
We set the match timer to be like 999 😄 and waited till the event - and every FOB, and built structures, spawned vehicless... all were waiting for us.
the issue is on map restart you get boosted up the list, so if you're at the same number of players as other servers you'll remain at the bottom and people tend to choose the top option
15 minute skirmishes imo would be better for seeding as people get to win and actually play the game

and only 1 HQ per team, in the opposite corners
it virtually made the map even larger
I did too... until they cut the side sector columns away from it and made all 3 1st sectors to be HQs
for a short time period, all ~~ 25 ~~ 15 sectors were in play:

but then they decided to take away those too and make it into the state we have today - 1 objective per sector line
which is the most boring & repetitive gamemode we have today
originally they said they cut away the side sector lines only until the transport vehicles will be in, so there wouldn't be so much running I believe
but then they just left it in that state forever
Whilst being extreme is would add a lot of variation, they even could add multiple of those caps at once.

WWII combat wasn't just huge army against another huge army, but a combat of a squad or two against other squad or two... and other s at some other place

btw., in this state a team that captured 2 of the enemy HQ sectors, won
when it was still 25 sectors, I believe it was 3 capped last line sectors that meant a victory
