Which permissions? The only ones it asks for are discord name, email (which it needs to send you invites), and the ability to join servers. The latter of which is necessary to ensure that you are in the playtest server. Discord will send you a system message whenever it joins a server for you, so it cannot sneakily put you in random servers.

After the playtest period is over you can revoke the permissions again in your Discord settings

My buddy couldn't hear people at all.
We lagged out multiple times where we needed to restart the game.
When a vehicle touches water (aka tank driving into a river crossing) your game freezes up for like 5-10 seconds.

The same 'ol supplies, same 'ol nodes, same 'ol garrys, same 'ol non-speaking teammates ruining matches.
Vehicles are identical, even have the same issues of bouncing around when stationary and stuff, but it's even worse here now, especially due to the differences in terrain compared to original hll.

Tanks still can't drive through small toothpick trees and just get stopped in their tracks.
By the looks of it, they're going to use the same whitelist system they had before, where they whitelist which props can be driven through and which can't.

Heli controls feel terrible. There's no weight to the thing and it randomly spins and rolls by itself. Like, polar opposite of something like squad or reforger helis. Not even in the same ballpark.
It's closer to something like Roblox - especially there's a game on there called Multicrew Tank Combat. Plays just like that if you know ball 😄

Boats are also glitchy af. Most of their spawn points are placed too close to terrain, so if you start turning your propeller side goes onto the ground and you kind of get stuck.
When you get unstuck, you go a wee bit faster than someone sprinting, so you're insanely easy to shoot out.
Same goes for normal transport/supply vehicles. Max out at 30km/h, but it's just a wee bit faster then sprinting. Waaaay too slow for a proper truck.

The new 3d map they added also makes it hell to even navigate in regards to buildings and roads. It drops fps like crazy, but that would be expected from the beta rn.

Then there's like minor bugs such as driver of a tank can't put markers on the map (as a SL ofc). Squad overview menu bugs out sometimes and doesn't let you create squads.
Lag spikes, terrible average fps etc.

One good thing I did notice is they finally changed how you get into vehicles. You can pick a seat similar to how it is in SQUAD.
So you can get in simotaneusly.

You can place a tunnel within 100m of a friendly building (I think that means garrisons, idk about OP's).

Then it like "links" to that garry or other tunnel and you can just teleport between them. Idk if there's a CD or anything

idk if it's both teams, but I saw garries being limited to 5 per team, which I think is great.

But the tunnels were limited to 15, which is bonkers, but obv. very easy to tune

Everything is way too bright if you're looking in the direction of the sun. And you can't like change the settings for it yourself either too much. It's a thing they'll probably fix pretty fast.

Although, one biiiiiig red flag right now is the fact that players can change their own shadow quality and foliage quality.

You can go from a really lushful jungle with dark shadows, to literally roblox land and just see through most of the stuff with ease.

People need to lower their hype by like 75%. It's cool that they're working on something, but I feel it's going to take at least till spring 2027 till this thing can launch

See the game is far from finished, which is expected at a beta! But there are also some good things, really like the helipart, and the people complaining bout it just have skill issues, it just takes a couple flights to get used to it! Working on my list so I can file the feedback form when they release it! To provide some positive vibes, its amazing how you can sit next to your enemy and they not even realizing it because how dark some bushes can be🤣🤣 the Vietnam feel to it is something that really gets to ya! And one amazing thing, no more instant drowning, we can now actually swim xd. There is a lot to fix, but there are also a lot of good things! Don't get off by all the negativity some are sharing!
