because the game got simplified/casualized from what was the original pitch. and personally i dont think the gunplay is great, for me its like slightly above average if im being generous. The animations, sounds, first person experience just feels half baked imo.

Which bit of it is fun? Is it the swapping of roles a couple times while standing around in HQ, driving a truck under no pressure and then hammering them up, or having to redo it all because someone decided to lay down for a couple minutes and go afk to take them out

No, it's not, I usually play Commander or logi SL. But I cannot see a single thing about nodes that is fun and engaging

Just build in the middle of nowhere, leave, check the map sometimes to see if they're still there. There's nothing else to do with nodes

Not particularly. When I first started playing, the team who were losing after midcap generally lost. It was a really high %. But the old node placements where you got more resources depending on where you placed them just led to the winning team getting a large resource advantage. This wasn't even too impactful back then as everyone just used Final Stand and their abilities for free, but nowadays it would be quite impactful.

There were a lot of changes though which impacted this, but nodes being reduced to what they are now did help alleviate the predictability of games
