hey for some reason when i use a SRV record to show the IP addr for my minecraft server (to make it so a diff subdomain accesses a diff port) it shows as "can't connect to server" but if you actually join it, it works. how do i get the "A Minecraft Server" motd to come back?

vague acorn
#

A record to the IP
SRV record on _minecraft._tcp.subdomain that has the port set and then the target is just subdomain.domain.tld

ye but like

#

I'm wondering

#

what this have to do with your motd specifically?

#

Oh now I get it

timber meteor
#

_minecraft._tcp + port -> subdomain.domain.tld -> ip

#

detect the subdomain on join, with bungee config or with on join ip(port) by denizen

vague acorn
#

that's what im doing

#

but if i spam refresh in minecraft the motd comes up like 15% of the time and the other 85% it shows as can't connect until i hit join

timber meteor
#

do you use cloudflare between it?
maybe some kind of spamprotection?
