Support for 1.20.4 was dropped some time ago, is there a specific reason you cannot update to 1.20.6?

It's very unlikely, however some plugins may not be update.

Updating your server and checking if plugins are even updated is a server owners responsibiliy.

I'd recommend testing locally and not publicly.
