i tried to set up my server but i get this error, i have OpenJDK17U-jdk_x64_windows_hotspot_17.0.12_7.zip downoaded but the guide also said something about Add to PATH and Set JAVA_HOME and i dont understand what its getting at

When you execute commands in cmd.exe, windows must know where the executables are that provides those commands. That's what PATH is for

The easiest way is to install Java 17 and click on add to PATH on the installer.

yea, the problem was that i was running Java version 1.8
