Maybe I should just be looking to mess with the player shoots event?
Pretty sure the animate command did work for that - what if you do a MCVE? I.e. just hold a bow and /ex it?
I hold a bow and do /ex animate player animation:START_USE_MAINHAND_ITEM It does not do anything to the bow. no errors or anything.
