This also occurs with sentinel NPCs that are spawned that are not using /follow but are just wandering.
It's low key pretty accurate tbh I don't blame you if you don't want to change it because if you're moving with momentum it follows you straight off exactly like a 9yo.
tricky to fix, arguably accurate
