why not just set something up to copy the world data back over on server start from a stored instance

The starting directory is server/plugins/Denizen.
May overwrite existing copies of files.
Note that in most cases this command should be ~waited for (like "- ~filecopy ..."). Refer to !language ~waitable.
This command can be disabled by setting Denizen config option "Commands.Filecopy.Allow copying files" to false.
you will probably also need to enable the denizen config setting to allow affecting files outside the denizen folder

will it also disable player data saving? for example the inventory resets every time the server starts
denizen can do whatever behavior you want to see
so this means that disabling auto_save will also disable player data saving?
