(cooldinoth) blender doughnut doesnt want to cooperate
Hi I'm AutoThreadBot! Don't mind me, I'll just be adding the helper team to this thread so they can see it. A human will get to you soon.
You can block this bot if you don't want to see these messages, I won't mind.

what do you think subdivide does
it divides the vertexes
they shouldn’t be as small as they are though that’s the problem
vertices are infinitely small points
a vertex is the lil black dots
edges are the lines between them
when you subdivide, every edge gets a new vertex in the middle
iirc also one in the middle of each square too
oh
according to the tutorial I should still be able to see the points and there definitely shouldn’t be this many of them
Are you applying the subdivide via the menu, or as a mesh modifier?
if you used the mesh modifier, you have an 'apply' button and an iterations count
if you iterated more than 1 time, it'll be very dense
if it's not applied, the shape will look different that the vertices, so you'll get some hidden under the shape
(you can also hit Z to change the view mode to something else if you need to see the vertices)
I put it to 1 yeah
before I put it to 2 but it seemed like it gave the same result
don’t have access to blender at the moment so can’t really debug and find out more :/
Thread closed as resolved.
I tried scaling up the icing and it still doesn't work like its supposed to
the vertexes seem fine, its just that I cant see them for some reason
how do I see the vertexes under the shape?
tried scaling up the entire mesh and it still didnt fix it
for context its supposed to look like this
a clearer visualization
it looks like my donut has a lot more vertexes than its supposed to, and I dont know why
firstly still need to see the dots though
looks like I’m going to restart the entire process again to possibly fix the problem aaaaa
omg ur watching blender guru
lol what
Blender tutorial series showing you how to use the most common features, like modelling, lighting, materials, geometry nodes and rendering - whilst making a donut.
