Hi Team,

I tried loading the game via steam and it opens, but nothing loads past a black screen. I updated drivers and verified the integrity but nothing's happening. When I click on the program, it just says 'not responding'. Thanks

Are you playing on Linux by a chance?

game runs on windows 11 i know that

#

theres no reason for it not to do so

#

try a reinstall just to clean everything up... leave that as a last resort if your not up to that.

restart steam, or even your pc if you feel up to it.

black screen means it is trying to load but cant for some reason.

your hardware isnt super old right? your not trying to play the game on 100 potatos hooked up together id assume.

well 100 potatoes might be able to run the game but it might be a amd problem because i know 2 things that will not work with the amd graphics cards and that is rifting with the shaders on and having bomberlings explode

#

the reason there is 2 is because i was showing someone what bomberlings do when they explode and it crashed my game so i tried again to make sure it wasn't a random error and it crashed the game again with a bomberling

#

when i tried the bomberling with a nvidia graphics card it did not crash

Is your GPU integrated?

did some restarts, vertified game files (hesitant to uninstall as it would remove my blueprints?), not a potato (12th gen, overpriced 3080 etc) definately feels like its trying then gives up instantly. I can hear the first game sound, but then no sweet menu music

#

game just did a cheeky lil update, but still nothing. It opens, game pops up on task bar (makes the unity noise? like THX but bassier) then nada - black screen.

#

also interesting to note, its trying to open on my side monitor and not the main screen.. not sure why or how to fix that either

#

ill try disconnecting all the monitors bar 1 and see if thats it (shouldnt be a performance issue but could be a 'the game is on a fourth screen or something)

when you can double check task manager when you try to run it. see if anything redlines.

otherwise i got nothin.

I wonder if we should ask Conq at that point

I feel like I handled this issue before.

Actually, please confirm for me the following:

  • Is your GPU integrated?
  • What operating system version are you on? 10/11? Windows 11, just confirmed.
  • If your GPU is not integrated, do you have SLI or equivalent? (Dual GPU)
#

I'll come up with more questions probably, but I have good hope to be able to fix this.

#

ISR does not play nice with Win11 to my understanding. Unless this update was recent (and only after you stopped being able to play), this might be the issue. But for proper sake let's see what the answers are to the other ones.

Sorry for leaving you hanging, but I'll do what I can to help.

#

I do assume it's integrated. Nothing fancy like SLI happening. (potentially unrelated but I did notice the most recent update broke my gf's network driver, so wouldnt be supprised).

So it's a 3080 OC that's connected via the PICE slot - Didn't roll back drivers, but have confirmed they're up to date

#

Fixed, but unsure why.

#

I unplugged every monitor except the main (It kept trying to open on my second monitor and wouldn't let me shift+win+left because it was crashing).

now that its loaded, ill close, plug them back in and see if it stil lworks

#

Okay, so its somekind of output issue? I plugged my monitors back in, it defaulted to the 2nd monitor and then wouldnt load (blackscreen)

#

I then went to display and changed the 'main' monitor to the one it was trying to load on (This was my previous main monitor, but I upgradred since last playthrough).

So changed the monitor it was trying to load on, to main in settings, and it then loaded fine. Then I used shift+Windows+left and have moved it to my regular monitor - and trying a restart now

#

So it doesn't work unless I use my previous main monitor *(right side) and set it as main under windows settings. Then I can move the window around - not sure why, but maybe that will provide some insight.

#

**further testing - I swapped HDMI cords around, so now the right slot is in the right order, but same behaviour
