#Oracle won't import MTG data cards

Nvm apparently scryfall is having issues with Spain
did the issue get solved in the meantime then?
Yep, it is an issue with IP and the country etc. You cannot really do anything from an oracle POV. The error makes it unable to enter or use any site related to scryfall, but it only happens sometimes and there is a specific way of solving
ISP issues
oracle does not use scryfall
cockatrice download card art from scryfall directly
oracle downloads the card database, which is without images
So maybe it was unrelated? But once I fixed the ISP issue, it worked again
cool
Thanks for the help, btw! And sorry for the late reply
Better late than ever, they say
Welp, thanks again!! Idk how to close the help and support ticket
Or to leave a nice review
But ty
yes but also, none of us stand to profit in any way whatsoever from this open source application, all of us are volunteers, as such there is 0 pressure to do anything, so anything you do is welcome
Been helping on a pokemon site for the hahas for years, so i pretty much know how it feels
I generally close threads once they are stale, you don't have to close it
If anyone else has this issue, now you know it can prolly be due to the isp thingy
Super'
yep, that's why I asked, this is the only way we can figure out what is going on
sure why not
▶️️ Looking to pick up that sweet Creator Badge that you've seen around the site?
Please head to our help page to see the requirements.
▶️️ Getting an error about a chunk, and now you can't properly access the site?
This typically happens when there is a momentary loss of connection, and then the file that was being loaded gets cached in a corrupted state.
First, please try clearing your cookies and cache in whichever browser that you're using to access Moxfield. That should remove the corrupted cache.
However, if you're in Spain or The Philippines, our assets server is being occasionally blocked by some ISPs there. Please follow the instructions on this page to edit your host file. You can skip ahead to the section that talks about editing your host file for whichever operating system that you're using. You'll need to add a line at the bottom that says:
172.67.206.103 assets.moxfield.net
Please be sure that there are no # symbols in front of that line.
Unfortunately, there isn't a way to edit the host file of non-rooted mobile devices. There are apps that will forward DNS settings, similar to the above host file workaround, but we cannot vouge for the efficacy nor the safety of these apps. Please use them at your own risk.
If none of this resolved your issue, and you've already checked out our full FAQ page, please reach out using the appropriate category of the ticketing system in the #1379468853326643230 channel or email us at [email protected].
super helpful, thanks
Npnp!!!
presumably the "asset server"they mean is scryfall and as we also use scryfall for images it'll affect cockatrice just the same
That is mostly what i thought, but in a more basic way. No scryfall=page does not work=no cards
And knowing with VPN worked, it had to be the issue
But it is sometimes workinf and other times doesnt
on cockatrice it means that oracle will still work though
It is pretty weird
unless the isps also block mtgjson
It did block mtgjson
that's annoying
sounds like they are blocking a large part of the internet for no reason then
Well, the owner of La Liga is an asshole (the spanish football federation) and is blocking loads of sites so people cannot watch football illegally
It may be due to that, lol
Because previous to that, there were no issues
strange
Also it is not always, sometimes works without issues
