#build struts first setting

considering the fact that every part requires a bunch of struts under it to be built, a setting where the crew focuses on building every strut first before shifting to making the actual parts would be nice

this would make crew construction at least 2.5x better. Especially on big (and laggy) ships

i imagine this would speed it up a decent bit as well, at least for ships with bubbles or similar

Why would this be better?

well since a strut is 1x1 and costs so little only 1 crew can carry pieces to it at a time and its often times slow

if you had the strut placed already then all the crew can go out at once to build the more expensive parts

But wouldn't this just mean the crew are basically building the ship twice as they go back to finish the first struts they placed? Plus when your building you'll already have all the parts, building the most expensive means nothing

yeah but sometimes i notice that the crew can leave a single strut unfinished because they focus on building something big which results in some things not being built

That sounds like a bug

it allows more crew to work on building stuff. Instead of having to wait for a new crew member to be deployed to build each new tile, the same crew member could start building many tiles (I forget how much steel each crew can carry), allowing more crew to join in construction faster.

oh, the I'm probably not going to find use out of this setting

#

sorry

I think I get it, just not sure how much faster it would be if at all, structures do take like less then a second to build so as you have like 3 crew flying around building just structures the rest can start building the rooms ontop of those

My headache would be solved if there weren't a million lines. 😛
