#When Cosmoteer on Mac ?π₯οΈπ»

I played cosmoteer for 2 years and I still love the game much. I have only a 10 years old laptop which very slow and buggy. Also I have a new Mac for school and study so in fact it is better than the other ones (Mac Pro with m4 pro ). I love playing cosmoteer but so I have to change my setup to maciOS . I donβt know how properly it would be work or anything but I Still hope that.
(Mybe like rimeworld on Mac can be cosmoteer )
Ps: my English is not good πππ©πͺ
FWIW, I have heard people claim to get Cosmoteer working using... whatever Windows-compatibility software is used on Macs these days.
This would be very nice and will allow more people to play the game, however IIRC Cosmoteer is built on a custom engine, so it would be pretty hard to get it working on the mac (or other devices for that matter). I think they're prioritizing adding more content before porting it to other devices.
In the meantime, you can use some software such as WineSkin (i.e Sikarugir) that allows you to play the game on the mac. I tried using CrossOver and it works pretty well, although you'll need a mouse to play as zooming out with the trackpad is very sensitive.
(many ppl dislike macs as they are thiccly against right to repair and all have some obsession with becoming paper thin for no good reason (plz someone make a laptop that you can bludgeon god with and have it survive the ordeal thx))
(and planned obsolescence)
My Mac is good but apple dislike things that are not apple π
But all in all that game is genial;)
-# me when I hate having money:
What do you mean about that
Apple is expensive
like, REALLY expensive
compare that to something like a Raspberry Pi, where I can get an entire cosmoteer-capable computer for just 60β¬
apple practices anti-consumer practices like price-gouging, anti-right-to-repair, planned obsolescence, and extra fees and subscriptions. All aimed to squeeze us of as much money as they can. There's really only one way to become one of the most profitable companies in the world, and apple nailed it.
From what I hear, Apple is super annoying to build apps for, and all that effort goes to waste because no one plays game on Mac.
Granted windows is also slowly going the same way with effectively forced-on ai and such but yk
Iβm on windows 11 and Iβve been able to disable all that (albeit with some 3rd-party software)
But yeah I canβt wait for the ai bubble to burst, ik itβll nuke the economy but itβs worth it
