You can actually press ctrl while placing a door to place doors everywhere
How to make your 20 million dreadnought double in price:
actually from personal experience it doesn't really increase the price that much
I think a hotkey toggle to make sections that require crew and can't be reached to either have a ‼️or red overlay. Maybe ⁉️ or yellow if it's a part in which only part of it has crew access and the rest doesn't
Honestly, this! That's so efficient to have parts automatically indicate if they have no door connection!
I realized right before sending it, that I should add in the Yellow overlay because some mods have parts that need two access points, instead of it all being accessible from one point. Do you think they should turn green when they have access to a crew room? Or do we need something else for if there's no airlock as well?
Actually, a yellow and green //// pattern would be good if there's airlock without crew quarters and green with full access to both airlock and crew quarters without having to leave through the airlock.

How interesting! Do you have any examples of modded parts that require 2+ access points so we can see a visual example? I do like the simplicity of just using a simple red indicator as opposed to a more in-depth system, but we'll see if that's viable. 🙂
the coilgun mod. I believe its the deck gun where you have to have access to both the top and bottom
crew keep on trying to use the airlock, then go back in because they can't access one part of it, so an overlay would be quite nice
So the front and back of the coilgun are impossible for crew to cross, thereby requiring 2 different doors?
yes
I like the mod, so I use it with this inconvenience
it gives a wonderful way to burn through excess metal plates if you salvage everything
This sounds more like a pathfinding bug that shouldn't be occurring (even without an overlay) if the other side of the modded coilgun isn't accessible using an airlock/door. 🙂👍
yes, but that's why I suggested two different colors of overlays
it should be a quick check to find if all crew locations have access or not
In blueprint mode there's already lines drawn from parts to the nearest power/crew if it needs them ?
There's also a ship-wide warning about Control Rooms, Airlocks, Fire Extinguishers and Reactors
Doesn't display right for parts that need 2+ crew entrances. Also, using something to show what all is connected together would be nice. And maybe less laggy than the crew check.
Doesn't help when you accidentally make a section that's cut off without crew quarters or any of the other necessities
