#(Meltdown) Make OC PD hitscan

The entire idea is: This makes the OC more transformative, and will help for performance. OC PD will probably be spammed very much on the sides of ships since it doesn't depend on crew, and the amount of projectiles may severely lower performance. I imagine making it hitscan will severely help with performance, and make it stand out more.

The rest of the numbers can be changed to whatever. This suggestion is merely suggesting to make it hitscan.

if you're worried about balance with PD being hitscan, they already have built in inaccuracy, and are one of the two projectiles that aren't shot down by flak or pd already (for your curiosity the other is mine shrapnel). this will only make them a bit better at shooting missiles down but itll likely vastly increase performance in large numbers (where OCPD is intended to be used as it doesnt need crew)

you can even possibly nerf their damage to compensate, since they get better at shooting things down

does it? my retort is that you shouldnt notice because it should be blocking hits. pd is already pretty damn accurate already

giving it bullets instead of a beam emitter and seeing how inaccurate it is

Honestly I can't really notice the difference between a hitscan pd and a bullet pd, especially when spammed in large numbers

So sacrificing that detail for a performance boost sounds reasonable

i hope its a boost in performance. in theory it is, because the game doesnt have to calculate a projectile it just has to calculate a beamemitter

my only concern with this is that it may overlap flak since flak is hitscan but i personally think PD is different enough to be able to be hitscan and be fine. numbers can be adjusted anyways
