Be able to select multiple paint layers

While painting i often need to copy paint tiles of multiple layers at once which forces me to do the same operation multiple times instead of being able to select multiple layers.

e.g. i end like this:
select layer 1, copy from a to b
(go sure tiles are on the correct position)
select layer 2, copy from a to b
(go sure tiles are on the correct position)
select layer 3, copy from a to b
(go sure tiles are on the correct position)

Please add the ability to select multiple paint layers for copy paste operations.

When more layers are copied then there is space discard them.

e.g.

1. select 3 layers of ship A
2. copy some paint tiles
3. select 2 layers of ship B (e.g
   layer 2 and 3)
4. paste

layer 3 from the copied part of ship A will be discarded.

Is this for copy/paste between different ships?

or for moving a section of paint around on the same ship

such as if you've recently lengthened a ship and have to move paint around to correct it

It makes sense for copy & paste, as well as deleting. Not sure how adding decals should work when multiple layers are selected.

yes, between different ships (i assume that the player knows it will not work when e.g. ship A has the shadows on layer 3 and ship B has them on layer 1)

i would assume that the selected decal is then put to where i click on all selected layers, and overwrites existing ones

Seems a little weird to have the same decal on multiple layers though.

well, another idea would be:
assuming the layers are selected by shift+lmb then the last layer which is selected by shift+lmb is the layer where the decal will be put on.

im not quite sure whats the better way
