My idea is a new set of thrusters Instead of just batteries they use fuel, and a idea I have is that they have a larger force. So in return for using fuel they give better speeds and ramp up time (for balancing). Also a fuel tank could be implemented like the engine room where in terms of connection. Secondly stations should sell fuel (for transport just use containers or something). And thirdly a new astroid containing frozen fuel. Reasons I think this should be added is because, it is more primitive methods of travel and ships sporting both battery and fuel thrusters would be both cool and efficient. How so?
My idea was more for career mode
what ever effects one effects the other, all game modes follow the same rules
if the thruster would be too good in pvp then give it some big drawback that makes it hard to use against someone with even the slowest reaction time, like how hyperjumping isn't some meta thing because it requires two ships and you need to stand still for a moment
this fuel based thruster could use hyperium and be a pseudo hyperdrive as if it was some prototype/earlier version of a hyperdrive that lets you travel in a straight line very quickly after some ramp up time and only in the direction that the thruster allows
Yeah. There's still some differences, mainly crew cost: crew are significantly more expensive in career than in pvp. So a new module that is light on crew but costly in materials will be great for career but far less useful in pvp
