The ability to see asteroids in gaseous nebulas while either near them or at all times has been asked for several times by the PvP community. Flying into a rock you can’t see feels very gimmicky and rng based and most ships automatically lose if this happens in a game. The majority of casual lobbies play with nebulas off entirely and this is a step towards making them feel like an interactive environment and less something you have to avoid at all costs because you can’t see the rocks on the borders,

(I’m definitely not just mad I lost a tournament to this)
But it would be a major quality of life improvement that has been asked for several times by us PvP players
Maybe as a setting? I can see why it would be nice, since it does feel like BS when you ram into something you couldn't see. But I also like how you need to explore the various gases to see whats there.
TL:DR I would like this, but as a setting you can toggle.
Say there’s a nebula in the center of the map and your opponent gets there first you don’t have time to play it safe and dip your toes into the nebula without being punished and if you dive in you die to the rock in the edge you can’t see
i think rather than just always being able to see rocks, you should be able to see into gaseous clouds from outside for the same distance as inside-inside detection
If you could see rocks on the outside at the same distance you can on the inside it would solve this as well
currently the edge of gas clouds is too sharply defined, it's too much of a change between inside and outside
Wow exactly what I was thinking before you said this lol
playing ping pong with the braincell
Like once your in the nebula the rocks are lent bad but on the border it’s awful
I literally can’t see this rock
I’m the yellow ship
I can get off the rock I just need to be able to see it lmao
But instead I get instantly 1 shot after not being able to see a rock and running into it
The cloud is on the center of the map so I have to push
yeah
What ie being stealth required being 100% inside but seeing stealth only >0% ?
not even that, just let us see into gas clouds from outside, just at reduced range
