I'll repeat myself and extend it a bit.
With current AI this is a NIGHTMARE waiting to happen.
Uh oh I accidentally ran into the fucking nutcracker because it has zero backwards thrust and now I'm wanted!!
The AI also adores running into asteroids so collision damage rn will only be an active detriment. I'm in general against it because it only makes rammers stronger but that's nust my opinion.
What if - as I believe I suggested in a previous thread - you only dealt collision damage if you were an enemy of the ship? It could work similarly to how player projectiles don't normally deal damage to friendly NCPs currently.
i think a better solution would be a ramming part that deals damage based on speed and weight of the spaceship.

It would be funny to have half destroyed ships/stations limping around everywhere though
Hence my suggestion that ramming only does damage if you’re an enemy to the ship.
