A utility that allows the player to be invisible for enemy/non-allied sensors. This can either be something like a light-bending device or a device that changes the ship's appearance to resemble the background. Either way, other ships will be unable to detect the player. A possible way to balance it is to make it like a boost thruster, so you cannot recharge while it's on, or a technology that allows others to see hidden ships.

(That was just to pull up the roadmap)

#

Cloaking is already an idea on the roadmap (Ongoing -> More Ship Modules), so that's a good idea!

Thanks for telling me

No problem! There's lots of stuff on there so it's easy to miss.

I think a better way to do cloaking would be reducing your radar detection range significantly, maybe even to the base vision range

#

Either that or make it not work when you're firing weapons

Cloaking and Stealth might be reasonable terms for the two things suggested here? Cloaking being the active camouflage (with a short duration?) while Stealth could be a reduction in radar/visual detection range? (interaction with expanded sensor tech?)

I think stealth shouldnt reduce visual detection range without cloaking

Lmaoo

Ye I think a good interaction would also be to make it so multiple radars reduce the stealth effect on enemy ships

#

So having 4 radars detects better than 1

#

Even if the max range for non-stealth is the same

Quixotic was saying that Quixotic was blatantly ripping off FTL, I think.

I thought I ripped off something
