I was thinking that it would be fun if you could build your own station to trade with NPCs like other faction stations. it would bring a lot to the later-game.
Some Additional Detail Ideas
- Put the station on autopilot (just have it act like other faction stations)
- NPCs looking for a trade would automatically come to your station sometimes in order to trade (you wouldent have to seek them out for a trade) as you could put the station on the map with a special setting or something to tell the game that this is a station and not a ship
- You would have to be active (so no AFKing for free money) and in the system (For performance) for the station to do anything
- A trading system where you would set prices and stuff but the price would have to be acceptable to the NPCs (so you couldent say like "100,000 for this one piece of ammo")
Some Balencing Ideas
- Putting the station in higher level system would give you higher value trading NPCs but make raids a big issue
- your already working on this but more dynamic trading would help balence this idea
- the NPCs would only come based on your reputation (so you couldent lure them in for the kill and get free stuff)
- Another way to balence this would be to put the functionality at a cost like blueprints (because i see this being a little too op earley-game) cause at that point in your gameplay you dont have much money
