#built in weapons on command bridges

How would this work
Well I think this is utterly useless
CRs are the most important and protected rooms on your ship
So they aren't going to be on the outside to put their weapons to any use at all
If you need weapons on your CR then chances are your already dead
Exactly my point
Yeah but roof ones
Some naval ships in real life sort of had guns built into their bridges
what's stopping you from putting a regular deck cannon next to the control room?
Its too big
mining laser then
Why would i wanna use a mining laser for combat
as an emergency roof weapon? which is what u r suggesting?
Not emergency roof weapon but maybe a small weapon for shooting emps before they get to ur command room
But it shoots 50 cal bullets
ok so A roof weapons are already a difficult topic, mainly balance, B why not just have this be its own part then
theres no reason for a CR to have a weapon
Balance????
Control room purpose is to supply control points
weapon purpose is to use those control points to deal damage
Ok maybe there could be command rooms that can have weapons put on them
So a weapon that adds command points?
why not just have a weapon next to a control room
No why would a weapon add command points? Now people will just spam that weapon
I guess so u have a point
Yes, please give me a reason to not just keep everything important behind 10 layers of armor!
so u want built in weapons for command rooms
this might not be the best way to do it, but its a neet idea.
I just don't see how this is in any way at all useful
Would help ships protect them selves from emps and other rnemy projectiles that go over the ship
no projectile goes over ships
No
Emp damage is easily mitigated by fast access to reactors, more bulk and pds.
Having a mini pd mounted to the cockpit will still protect you only from missile emp.
Thats a shame
Ive seen deck cannon projectiles go over friendly ships tho
Ok
Perhaps a short range roof pd instead
That just puts missile ships at a needless disadvantage compared to ion or projectiles.
When your cockpit is about to get hit it should get hit, unless you as a player do something to make it not do that.
The whole point is to hit the cockpit, why do we need to make it harder?
