If I go kill a station, then have to gather all a can, run all the way back to a Shipyard just to add on more storages (as OP said they WONT have hyper becons (Though WHY not???)) Then go all the way back to the station just to keep gathering resources why would I bother playing for long

The "logic" would mostly just be flavor, like in most games you need to be in a garage to make significant changes.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's the best idea in the world, it does make the general gameplay loop longer but it could be cool for a sort of hardcore/realism gamemode.

I wouldn't die on the hill of defending this idea, but I would support it for a more hardcore optional gamemode.
Adds the possibility of getting hit on your way back to a station when you suddenly realize you're under-equipped for the enemies you're encountering.

plus you cant make stations yet in the first place so its absurd to implement a feature like this

While I think this being default would be terrible, I do think it'd make for an interesting challenge option that only station's crew can repair your ship

maybe repairing at a dock reduces the cost a bit? maybe non dock repairs will cost a bit more the normal,or even one certain parts of a ship can be repaired without a dock (stuff like engines) so you can limp back to a friendly station or your own
could allow for a towing ship aswell, ofc would need to be a game option not base
