#Automatic self-destruct option for parts

Hi,

at certain points in the development of mods a triggered self-destruct of some ship parts might come in handy.
For example if you need some AI only parts and don't want the players to have them.
The first go, is not making them build-able, which is fine. But I want to prevent the players from getting them when they claim a ship of that fraction.

So I need a kind of triggered self-destruct mechanism, that will trigger immediately once the ownership changes.

It is easy to imagine a foreign culture that won't let its technology fall in the wrong hands. So the last duty of an officer of that ship would be the self-destruction to leave nothing of value behind

idk if thats a good idea, it removes any use for salvaging if the ship just explodes.

You lose a lot of value since sometimes you can just reuse a reactor in a ship due to how recycle rates work

No, that is not what I mean by this...
There should not be an automatic self-destruct on the whole ship. Just on single parts...
There is no need to blow up everything and the system is fine as it is right now. This self-destruct option is meant for AI only parts...

As an example: You have a nuke defense station with a lot of storages. But at some point the storage are empty and the station is useless.
So you could create a modded nuke-part source to supply the defense station with a slowly, but infinite amount of nuke parts. BUT you would not any player have an infinite amount of nuke parts, so once the player captures this station, you would like to have the nuke source to be automatically destroyed. The rest of the station will be left as wreckage...

this just seems pointless, nuclear missiles are pretty deadly so you should be able to extinguish all the ammunition.

Even then, everybody should be able to have atleast 1 ship that can outrange a nuclear missile, so it would just be pointless since none of the missiles would fire

Let's take another example: i want to have fuel for a modded reactor. I want the reactor be used for AI and player ships.
But for the AI I need a supply part, otherwise AI ships will drop dead once there is no fuel. But I don't want players to have such an infinite source... so the source part is not buildable, but now I need a way to prevent players from capturing it...

OK I see what you mean, but there'd no reason to give any AI infinite ammo so that would make the idea pointless

If you give any AI infinite stuff, then it may become very difficult to beat since you can't just wait for their ammo to run out
And that might be unfun
