#A way to deal with surplus ammo from looting ennemies.

Edit : So I learned that you can right click the harvest icon to blacklist stuff, but I would still love to see a recycling plant of some kind so it's all not just wasted.

I'm thinking either a way to blacklist a certain resource from being picked up by a ship, or what I think would be more interesting something like a recycling plant that transforms it into scrap metal you can either sell (Like 20 ammo=1 scrap metal, because the main thing keeping me from selling all that excess really is just the capacity of stations) or reprocess into stuff like steel plates or coils. Or a different kind of ammo. Kinda like Astroneer does it, I guess?

You can right-click the salvage icon (the pickaxe) and choose which resources to ignore for collection. From that right-click menu, you can also set resource limits, so your ship will only ever pick up a max of 40 Coils (or whatever).

I do like the idea of a scrapper or something. That could be neat.

Oh thanks, I had no idea!

I would still LOVE to see a recycling plant though.

I also like the idea of a scrapper, but steel and coils are already so plentiful that turning stuff into those doesn't sound especially useful to me.

What if it was just cubes of junk that you could sell to stations and are highly space-efficient?

Oh, that could be neat. Like a trash compactor. Would sure get rid of the tedious effort of having your crew slowly sell 5,000 ammo (or whatever).

Refinery that turns said cubes of junk into random resource? Would obviously be less efficient than simple not compacting it in the first place, but would give a logical reasons for stations to buy it and potential for "junk freighters" or ships that carry only junk cubes.

Yeah, Plates and coils really are plentiful, but you do actually find yourself missing steel plates sometimes, and a little less often coils. But yeah, having it be a really space efficient resource would be nice - like sometimes I find myself having so many plates and coils I don't know what to do with them, so being able to sell them at a lower profit but in a higher capacity would be nice.

Also turning plates, to scrap to save space, back to plates (probably with some loss) when you need to build would be a fun trade-off. I guess you'd need to add a way for scrap to be automatically converted into the most demanded resource though.

I also thought about being able to transform scrap into other, rare resources (Tri steel, diamonds or enriched uranium) but that would be way too OP and completely wreck the economy. The best idea I had for that was to basically mix it with other materials like alloying, but that'd probably require its own "refinery" building, but that'd probably still wreck the economy... But I do think it'd be a fun way to have new materials though, alloying.
