Not really
The front of the ship is where the surface turrets go
Avoiders, Ul fastwalls,
Both are ships with a lot of front of the ship weapons
But the thing is, Isn't ions the bigger Step up, from Dlb's
yeah but disrupters can also just break the diamons if the ship ain't moving that much and destroy the entire system
Usually unlikely
also its a single shot
Deeply embedded ion cores are able to be quite defended from projectiles
yeah but if its a tiny line for the ion to escape out of it is hard to aim
i think
did not really do ions
Not really hard to aim
You just ram the target, and the ion is both, closer dealing more damage, and is hitting the enemy ship
this does 2k per shot
Often leading to the ion vaporising a big line directly into the enemy reactor and cr
Regular dlb's have a DPS of 2k, 1900 or so
I am thinking your suggestion has less DPS
yes
it can also have a 3 or 5 sec cooldown
its like a less expensive way of doing ions
2k/3, is 666 dps
to just bridge that gap of midgame
Sl's have 400 DPS, and those are the smallest lasers
you mean laser blasters?
This gun, with 666.66 DPS, will cost more energy to fire while dealing the DPS of 2 sl's
Yes, Sl's
well how about more dmg per shot?
i just kinda wanna have a weapon for the middle part of transitioning from heavy lasers to ions
It would need about 6000 damage each shot for DPS to match that of the Dlb
heavy laser?
Yes, Dlb
The thing with this weapon, unlike the SL, or the Dlb, is that it lacks the needed accuracy, by that I mean it has 45 degrees of rotation, about that of flak
Meaning it cannot exactly focus fire
The front isn't a vulnerable place
Where else do surface weapons go anyways
Placing them behind the ship doesn't make them hit things
it has like 3k or so hp
Things at the front often take a lot longer to die even against Eb's
cuz the diamond needed
The Avoider ship archetype for example
