All "Missiles" types weapons (High Explosives, EMP, Nukes, and Mines) should be "intelligent" in the sense that they blow up ONLY against enemy ships. For your own ships, if they "hit", the missile just won't blow up at all (maybe bounce) (maybe with, if implemented, some physical collision damage on both the missile and the ship part that was hit).

Just like for ammo based weapons, physical impacts should always have some amount of penetration through shields.

Unless you play with Friendly fire set on, your missiles aren't doing anything when they hit your ship

(to my understanding) the idea is so that you dont waste missiles because of teammates around you

yeah if there could be some sort of projection out of the missile launchers that would tell if they're just gonna run into friendlies and be a waste so they'd wait to shoot that'd be great
